San Diego Trolleys Get Wrapped Up for San Diego Comic-Con 2019 [UPDATE July 5]

We’re now just weeks away from San Diego Comic-Con 2019, and signs that the convention are just around the corner are starting to pop up, starting with the San Diego trolleys, which have just received their annual makeover. This year should see a record number of MTS trolleys with a Comic-Con wrap — keep an eye out for one of the 50 wrapped trolleys! If you spot one in the wild, be sure to tag @SDMTS on Twitter with your photo!

The MTS has been busy, as there’s another new wrapped trolley on the tracks today — this time for the return of Crank Yankers on Comedy Central. Cool San Diego Sights got a look:

[UPDATE July 3]

There are still plenty of additional SDCC trolley wraps ready to be unveiled, including this one for Cartoon Network’s upcoming series Infinity Train, about a 12-year-old Tulip and her two-in-one robot companion, as they set out on an infinite train with infinite possibilities. All aboard! SYFY is returning to San Diego Comic-Con with their popular #ItsAFanThing. It’s unclear yet if these new trolleys, which feature fun, geeky sayings and slogans, will be the only trolleys getting a SYFY makeover, but we dig it. [UPDATE June 21]

We revealed earlier this month that the new ABC Cobie Smulders series Stumptown, based on the Oni Press series, is heading to San Diego Comic-Con in some form (most likely a panel). There’s even more signs of this, as the SDMTS is now all wrapped up in a wrap for the series. From Cool San Diego Sights, here’s a look:

[UPDATE June 18]

Outside Comic-Con has spotted another new trolley in the wild, featuring the other half of the FOX Animation Domination block — this time for Bless the Harts and Bob’s Burgers.

[UPDATE June 11]

Our own Outside Comic-Con has your first look at a brand new MTS trolley wrap which was added overnight while out of service (they work fast!), for Family GuyThe Simpsons, and FOX’s Animation Domination block. The trolley also mentions Bob’s Burgers and Bless the Harts — which could be a likely sign of panels for all four.

[UPDATE June 10]

Cool San Diego Sights caught a closer look at the SpongeBob SquarePants trolley on the tracks, with several more characters.

[UPDATE June 4]

The first MTS trolley wrap of the year has hit the tracks, and it’s SpongeBob Squarepants, which celebrates 20 years this year. We’ve thought for awhile that Nickelodeon will go big with the anniversary at SDCC this year, and this is a good sign that there’s plenty more to come for the sponge that lives in a pineapple under the sea.
