Mondo San Diego Comic-Con Online 2020 Exclusives & Panels [UPDATE July 24]

Can’t have Comic-Con without Mondo — and the good news is, you don’t have to. Today, we learned more about Mondo’s Comic-Con @ Home plans, which include panels and live chats, as well as exclusives for Batman, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, X-Men, and more through their website.

No looks at the exclusives yet (which will be revealed in the coming days), but many of your favorite artists and Mondo crew are participating in panels which will also be available on their website.

Release times are as followed:

  • Wednesday, July 22 releases – 1PM PT
  • Thursday, July 23 releases – 9AM PT
  • Friday, July 24 releases – 9AM PT
  • Saturday, July 25 releases – 9AM PT

Here’s a look at this year’s exclusives:

[UPDATE July 24 – #2]

Nerdist has the details on Mondo’s very X-Men themed Sunday offerings, which includes prints and pins from Matt Taylor, Mark Brooks, Michael Cho, Tom Whalen, and Tom Muller. All will be available on Sunday, July 26 at 9AM PT.

Up first is a House of X / Powers of X 24″x36″ screenprint by Matt Taylor. It comes in two versions — a regular, which is limited to 375 pieces for $50, or a variant limited to 175 edition size for $75.

But the X-Men love doesn’t stop there, as Mark Brooks has also created two beautiful editions of a House of X / Powers of X screenprint. The 36″x24″ poster comes in a regular edition of 175 for $50, or a variant of 100 pieces for $75.

Next up, Michael Cho has paid tribute to X-Men: Children of the Atom with this 18″x24″ screenprinted poster. It’s limited to 175 pieces for $50.

Mondo is also offering a House of X / Powers of X X-Men — Dawn of X Slip Mat. The dye sublimated double-sided felt mat will be available for $14.

Then it’s time for everyone’s favorite — pins! Tom Whalen has created this 2″ soft enamel pin of Marvel’s Sentinel, which will be available for $13, , along with a 1.03″ soft enamel pin of Marvel’s Jean Grey and Marvel’s Cyclops for $10 each.

Matt Taylor paid tribute to House of X / Powers of X with this Professor Xavier 1.175″ hard enamel pin for $10. There’s also a 1.16″ hard enamel pin of Magneto, also for $10.

Finally, there’s a X-Men logo 1″ hard enamel pin by Tom Muller available for $10.

Today, on Friday, July 24, Mondo is releasing newly announced exclusives for Batman: The Animated Series 8XLP Box Set Vol. 2 with art by Phantom City Creative for $200, as well as a King of Movies: The Leonard Maltin Game with art by Matt Taylor available for $25. You can grab them at 9AM PT.

We also have some more information about a few exclusives for The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt, thanks to Collider. Becky Cloonan has created artwork for new exclusive The Wilder 3 Wild Hunt t-shirt available for $25, as well as three enamel pins featuring Geralt, Godling, and Griffin for $10 each. All four items will launch on Saturday, July 25 at 9AM PT.

Xbox showed off a new Mondo Halo by Matt Ryan Tobin Comic-Con @ Home exclusive, which will be available on Friday, July 24 at 9AM PT. No word on pricing or edition size.

Another day, another round of amazing Mondo exclusives — this time revealed through io9. On Saturday at 9AM PT, you’ll be able to grab three prints, starting with Ghostbusters by We Buy Your Kids. This 18″x24″ screenprint is limited to 150 pieces and will retail for $50.

Then there’s a Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure by Matt Ryan Tobin, which clocks in at 24″x36″, is limited to 225, and will retail for $50.

Then there’s a 36″x24″ How to Train Your Dragon by Ken Taylor, with two versions. The regular edition is 225 pieces and will retail for $50, while the variant is limited to 125 pieces and will retail for $70.

You can also grab this The Ways Of The Force Timed Edition Screenprinted Poster by Martin Ansin Star Wars poster as part of today (Wednesday)’s drop on Mondo’s site. The foiled edition is sold out now, but the regular edition will be available as a timed edition.

Batman-News has the details on a new Batman: The Animated Series – “Two-Face” by Artwork by Phantom City Creative. This 18″x24″ double sided poster of everyone’s favorite Gotham district attorney will run $70 and is limited to 225. This will be available Friday, July 24 at 9AM PT.

 

Why so serious? SYFY Wire has the details on a new The Dark Knight Poster by Oliver Barrett — which comes in two different versions. You can grab the 24″x36 poster in either regular for $50, or variant for $75. Both will be available on Friday, July 24 at 9AM PT.

There’s also a Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla Poster by Attack Peter. The 20″x30″ linocut poster will be available for $100 on Saturday, July 25 at 9AM PT.

Daniel Danger Signature 1,000 Piece Puzzle “when do we see the results of everything that happened for a reason?” – $20 (Available Thursday, July 23 at 9AM PT)
Mondo gives fans a second chance to own Daniel Danger’s hauntingly beautiful piece, albeit in a brand new format. This puzzle is based on the 2019 nine-color screenprint series “when do we see the results of everything that happened for a reason?” Featured in this design is the Dusk colorway, originally an edition of 150.

Alex Pardee Signature 1,000 Piece Puzzle “Self Employed” – $20 (Available Thursday, July 23 at 9AM PT)
Originally revealed by self-employed artist Alex Pardee in May of 2019, this is the second in a series of works nestled under the title — this version featuring a specific addendum: the word FREELANCE. We’re sure that many folks can relate to this featured character, who still manages to smile despite it all. Is there a lesson in this puzzle? Probably.

Aaron Draplin Signature 1,000 Piece Puzzle “Thick Lines Valley” – $20 (Available Thursday, July 23 at 9AM PT)
Big, bold and beautiful, Aaron Draplin’s Thick Lines series is much like the artist himself. With an eye for expressing detail in simplicity and saying so much with so little, Draplin’s art is both energizing and heartfelt. This original work, a visual love letter to the American West, debuted in 2014 and finds a new home and colorway in this puzzle.

Aaron Horkey Signature 1,000 Piece Puzzle “Hoarfrost” – $20 (Available Thursday, July 23 at 9AM PT)
Aaron Horkey’s “Hoarfrost” made it’s triumphant debut at San Diego Comic-Con in 2011 as a four-color screenprint, edition of 60. The print featured metallic ink – which Mondo has honored in their rendition of the piece in puzzle form.

Little Friends of Printmaking Series 300 Piece Puzzles “Video Store” and “Record Store” – $16 each (Available Saturday, July 25 at 9AM PT)
Award winning illustrators and designers by day, husband-and-wife duo by night, Little Friends of Printmaking “Video Store” and “Record Store” puzzles are the first in a series and the first 300 piece puzzles Mondo has produced. Always capturing the cute as well as the comforting in their art, Little Friends of Printmaking continue their fine art pursuits through exhibitions, lectures, and artists’ residencies worldwide, spreading the gospel of silkscreen to anyone inclined to listen. Our eyes and ears are wide open.

Den of Geek has all the details on Mondo’s next round of exclusives, including a Tales from the Loop Original Soundtrack 2XLP vinyl, featuring the score from the Amazon series by Philip Glass and Paul Leonard-Morgan. It will retail for $35 and be available starting Wednesday, July 22.

Fans of the best film 2018 produced will be excited for this Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Poster by Mike Saputo. The 36″x24″ screenrprinted poster will be available for $60 on Thursday, July 23.

They’re also releasing a Peanuts Summer Poster reproduced by Jon Smith and printed by Lady Lazarus. The 24″x18″ poster is a limited edition of 125, and features artwork by Peanuts creator Chuck Schulz. Grab it for $45 on Thursday, July 23.

There’s more Peanuts goodness from Mondo coming at you with this Peanuts “Art” Poster by Jon Smith and Lazy Lazarus. It also features artwork by Schulz, and this 18″x18″ poster is limited to 125 pieces, at $35 each on Thursday, July 23.

Catch this Spider-Man 2099 Enamel Pin by Tom Whalen for just $10 on Thursday as well. It’s 1.08″ of soft enamel on a shiny silver nickel.

[UPDATE July 20]

Mondo is expanding their line of Tiki mugs for Comic-Con @ Home, with several Marvel character exclusives. Slashfilm revealed this year’s Tiki-tastic offerings, starting with a Soul Variant Thanos Mad Tiki Mug designed by Michal Bonanno and sculpted by Tufan Sezer. It’s 32 oz, limited to 275 pieces, and will retail for $50.

Joining Thanos is a Purple Glazeway MODOK Tiki Mug, which clocks in at 36 oz. It’s limited to 450 pieces and retails for $45.

There’s also a Reflective Metallic Blue Glaze Venom Tiki Mug, which is the biggest of all at 40 oz. It’s limited to 450 pieces and retails for $55.

Finally (for now), Mondo is also adding a MOTUbi variant to their Masters of the Universe line of action figures. Featuring a metallic paint job by Hector Arce, the variant is limited to 250 pieces and will retail for $250.

Thursday, July 23

Mondo Live Artist Talk: Daniel Danger, Sara Deck, Jack Hughes, Justin & Paige Erickson, Rory Kurtz and Truck Torrence sit down to discuss the current poster scene. They’ll share a look at their process, hint at what they’ve been working on, and discuss where they’d like to see the alternative film poster scene go next. Moderated by Mondo Creative Director Mitch Putnam. (11:00am PT / 2pm ET)

An Evening with Toys: Mondo Toys and Collectibles Creative Directors Mike Bonanno and Hector Arce will host a live AMA showcasing their toys, collectibles and tiki line up for 2020 and 2021. The live show will have a video/sizzle reel teasing upcoming products followed by a Q&A. (2:00pm PT / 5:00pm ET)

MONDOPALOOZA: Mondo and Death Waltz Recording Company present a collection of exclusive at-home recorded musical performances by our friends and composers from around the world, including Le Matos, Paul Leonard-Morgan, Emile Mosseri, Fabio Frizzi, Goblin, The Blasting Company, Pentagram Home Video, Dolls and more. The Mondo Happy Hour with Attack Peter!: Mondo Creative Directors Eric Garza, Mitch Putnam, and Rob Jones host a live interview with artist Attack Peter! (12:00pm PT / 3:00pm ET)

Lights, Kaiju, Action… DESTROY: Join Mondo Books’ Zack Carlson, Mondo Collectibles’ Michael Bonnano, and Mondo Music’s Spencer Hickman for a sneak preview of some BIG upcoming releases. Like, skyscraper big. Like, rampaging monster stepping on skyscraper big, featuring an exclusive look at the forthcoming Art of Sofubi book, plus well, you’ll have to watch to see which department swings in with the most gargantuan announce of all.
