WonderPost 2023: Dreamforger Studios, Monkey Minion Press, Patrick Ballesteros

The theme of this edition of WonderPost 2023 is: Cute. If you have a case of the Mondays, the artwork in the news below will beat it into submission with kitten and puppy kisses. That cat poster on the wall wishes it were as cute as all this. Dot from Animaniacs would concede her cuteness. You get the idea. We’ve got adorable WonderCon news from artists like Dane Ault (Monkey Minion Press), Jeff Pina, and Nick Kremenek (Dreamforger Studios), among many others.

Here’s a look at what you might have missed:

  • One of our favorite artists, Nick Kremenek, is having some fun teasing his Dreamforger Studios WonderCon 2023 exclusive he’s bringing to Booth #D-39 in Artists’ Alley. His first tease from the Good Team is Ash Williams from the Evil Dead series. Good. Bad. He’s the guy with the gun.

  • That wasn’t Kremenek’s only tease. His next choice for the Good was X-Men‘s Rogue, who is a solid addition to the team, sugah.

  • Kremenek’s last member of the Good team is Prince Colwyn from the classic fantasy movie, Krull. If you’re not familiar with this gem, the cast is absolutely amazing and totally worth watching for a very young Liam Neeson.

  • One thing we know about Ashley: She draws cats. She’ll also have these adorable stickers with her at Table #C-61 in Artists’ Alley. Hey, that’s two things we know about Ashley now!

  • Our good friend, artist Patrick Ballesteros, teased some adorable new Mini Originals celebrating fandoms from Star Trek, Superman, and The Last of Us, among others, he’s bringing to Table #A-07 in Artists’ Alley.

  • So many teases! Another of our favorite artists dropping hints to his Twitter followers is Dane Ault from Monkey Minion Press, who recently shared a work-in-progress for his WonderCon 2023 Exclusive. Did you guess what it is yet? See if you’re right at Table #B-33 in Artists’ Alley (hint: wax on, wax off).

  • Artist JL Grillo took a really great moment to share Kaz Kunstmann’s latest work, WARHEAD, which they’ll have with them at Table #SP-43 in Small Press. I’d say they have quality control purrfectly in hand… er, paw.

  • Warning: Apply cuteness goggles to avoid an overload of adorbs. Eva and Eylyana (+Evan!) from 2Designerds are bringing the cutest stickers with them to Table #C-39 in Artists’ Alley.

  • You’ll never not fall for this 6’2″ life-sized Tom Hiddleston Loki statue. Trick all your friends into believing you got a selfie with the God of Mischief when you visit the Hollywood Horror Museum’s booth.

  • WonderCon can have the effect of knocking one’s socks off. If that happens, don’t panic; Art by Ellen Ma has you covered at Dealer’s Table #DL-11 with her adorable Kitsune mask socks.

  • Mando would definitely take his mask off for Elly Karipides’ Grogu 4″ mini original and wouldn’t regret it. Head to Table #C-44 to try to figure out which character is cuter: Grogu or the cat he’s petting.

  • Cosplay Actress Stylist London Landicho Villamayor proposes an interesting concept: What if Sailor Moon and the X-Men were the same? Have your mind blown with this concept at the fountain outside the convention center on Friday, March 24 at 11am PT.

  • Of course there will be more Mandalorian art at WonderCon this year. Savi Rodarte’s Padawan Pins will have this adorable print (family portrait?) of Din Djarin, Grogu, and Bo-Katan at Booth #1227.
