Under the Tents 2023: Ryan Ottley, Priscilla Wilson, Emily the Strange, Jason Henderson

Now that the full SDCC 2023 panel schedule has dropped, you should be well into your Comic-Con planning. When you’re not in a panel room or checking out one of the amazing offsites, here’s a few more things you’ll find on the Exhibit Hall floor to tickle your collective fancy. Scroll down to find your next obsession from artists like Ryan Ottley, Adi Granov, Priscilla Wilson, and a lot more. Oh, yeah, and there’s crochet, as always.

Here’s a look at what you might have missed:

  • Marvel artist Adi Granov revealed his new sketchbooks he’s bringing to Trinity Comics’s Booth #5553 at SDCC this year (assuming his issues with the printer get worked out).

  • Speaking of mix-ups, SDCC artist and friend of the U-Blog Priscilla Wilson had a little mix-up with her bag manufacturer. What do you do when the soufflé doesn’t rise? You call it a “limited edition”… err, lava cake and press on.

  • Now this is a limited limited edition. Artist Chrissie Zullo Uminga will only have 100 of these beautiful new enamel pins with her at SDCC 2023, so you’ll want to stop at Artists’ Alley Table #BB-17 as soon as you can if you want to find one.

  • The editions just keep getting more and more limited. We Can Be Heroes (for more than one day) will have 15 of 40 total BRZRKR prints ever created signed by the legend himself, Keanu Reeves. Get to Booth #1901 to grab your numbered and signed copy to help support the Golden Apple Comic and Art Foundation (and add some zen to your wall).

  • Is this turtle enough for your turtle club? Crochet artist Design Jenn will be dropping this adorable little hero in a half-shell somewhere around the convention center during Comic-Con this year.

  • Fans of illustrated Emo Girl Emily the Strange can find her at Booth #4114 on the Exhibit Hall floor during SDCC this year. Creator Rob Reger will also be signing on Thursday and Friday at 3pm, Saturday at 1pm and Sunday at 12pm. I hope this news made you smile a little.

  • Hail Hydra! Err… I mean, artist Brandon Kenney is debuting his homage to Captain Steve Rogers with a beautiful Captain America: The First Avenger print for SDCC 2023. Dr. Zola himself would consider it a masterpiece.

  • This critter drop is enough to calm the most ferocious of beasts. Shozumi’s latest crocheted critter will tame the wildest velociraptor at San Diego Comic-Con.

  • Artist Pablo Villalobos will have a sketchbook available at booth #4401, where he will also be signing and sketching. 10 single character mixed media commission are available for pre-booking today, plus smaller headshot sketches will be available at the booth.
