Under the Tents 2024: Matt Hebb, Iron Studios, Rhode Montijo, Cathleen Abalos, Tony Bui, BeKyoot

It’s a little over a week away from SDCC and after a stressful day of trying to get offsite tickets and figuring out where to put your portal points towards, here’s a nice non-stressful hefty read on a bunch of exclusives, signings, and everything else… 

Here’s a look at what you may have missed: 

  • Illustrator Tee On will be exhibiting at San Diego Comic-Con next week, where they’ll be setup at Booth #4715. You’ll find them with San Diego Comic-Con exclusive artwork, 11″x17″ prints titled “Disko and Fiasco” and “Hisuian Typhlosion”. Each piece is printed on Fujifilm crystal archive paper, and will be available for $40 each.
  • Nifty Neuron is back again, this time with a tiny Deadpool variant that will also be dropping at some point during the convention. As always, follow along on social for updates and hints on the drops. 

  • Star Wars fans this one’s for you. Star Wars Unlimited shared a look at exclusive cards that will be available at Booth #2913E; every day a limited number will be released to buy on a first come first serve basis. So be sure to hyperdrive over there first thing. 

  • Iron Giants have announced two huge fandoms getting MiniCo figurines. Available at Booth #1815 first up is The Fast and The Furious‘s Brain O’Conner and Dominic Toretto, which will be available for $40 each. Then Lord of The Rings fans will be excited for Legolas, Gimli, and Aragorn each available for $30 each.

  • RockLove Jewelry has announced an awesome Lightsaber Workshop collection debuting at the convention and also on their website. Four distinct components: the emitter, the sleeve, the switch, and the endcap, are sold as an unassembled set for your construction. Each necklace also has a different hilt theme, allowing you to choose your own style. Be sure to check out their website for all the information on the different designs and pieces. 

  • Matt Hebb has shared lots of fun new items today that he will have available at Table #F-05, including a Las Vegas Double Downs sticker, a Miami Dragons sticker, and a See My Vest Simpsons-inspired Playbill with Mr. Burns. Be sure to stop by and check them all out. 

  • Camilla D’errico has shared a beautifully colored teal piece named Pandora that will be making its debut as an open edition print at the con at Booth #4723 and also online.

  • MadCave Studios shared a look at their Flash Gordon #1 variant by Ian Churchill. Stop by Booth #2806 to pick yours up.

  • Gabe Eltaeb gave a glimpse of his comic Empyrean Earth Illuminated which will be available at his Big Man Comics Booth #1705 and online at the website.

  • Charlie Stickney shared a gold foil exclusive version of his White Ash Annual with covers by Conor Hughes and Don Aguillo. Available at Booth #2202, the artists will be there if you would like it signed.

  • Goldie Chan will have very limited original Archie stickers and swag to give away during the convention during three panels, “I’m In The Nerd Business”, “Networking In Your Niche”, and “Real or Fake, A Game Show”. 

  • Stop by Metropolis Booth #5516 to pick up a free Superman postcard painted by Mondo Freiman.

  • Unknown Comics will be doing a pop-up shop at The Wine Bank during the convention from 10am – 9pm daily. Stop by for exclusive signings with X-Men voice actors, meet talented comic book artists, get limited edition comic books, and much more.

  • Coffin Comics shared some sneak peeks of things you can expect at their Booth #5530 and online.

  • Kaveh Taherian shared a print he will have paying homage to the art of Mike Mignola by mashing Mike’s style with characters from his comic The Avocado Chronicles. He will also be selling Mothman microfiber cloths. You can find both at Booth #BB-02.

  • Aspen Comics will have an Ekos Genesis Art Collection hardcover book with artwork by Michael Turner. The 11″ x 13″ book will be available in limited quantities at Booth #2330.

  • Ashley Wood’s iconic undead assassin, Dead Astronaut Gangsta will be debuting at the con. Limited to just 500 pieces worldwide you will be able to purchase at the Underverse Booth #2742.

  • Rhode Montijo shared a new goodie that will be available at his all-cardboard Booth #1329. This customizable embossed Caption Ghost Decorate-tin allows you to add your own fun caption with a dry-erase marker (not included). This adorable ghost measures at 9 x 12 and comes with a hole for hanging. The perfect gift for yourself or someone else for Halloween!

  • Geeky Hooker is also back with another crochet critter drop, this time in the form of cute little Mona from the TV show Nanalan’ that probably no one but me (and Geeky Hooker) remembers *sad face*. Follow along with socials to get information on all the drops!

  • Cathleen Abalos shared her menu for all the things that she will have available at the con including stickers, totes, prints, enamel pins, hats, shirts, sweaters, and even a blanket.   • If you’re free on Friday night you might want to check out this fun Drag and Burlesque show. Jimmy Sherfy’s Haus of Cosplay will be at Casa Blanca on Friday at 7pm with seating starting at 6pm. The show is 18+ and the entry fee is $10. Come out for a fun time!
