The popular Avatar: The Last Airbender is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2025 in a big way — including a stop at San Diego Comic-Con.
Nickelodeon is continuing the mythology with Avatar: Seven Havens, an all-new series from creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, which will center around a young Earthbender who discovers she’s the new Avatar.
In addition to the new series, Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon have big plans to celebrate the legacy of the animated series, including the upcoming untitled animated Aang Avatar film, due in theatres on January 30, 2026, with a voice cast that includes Dave Bautista, Dionne Quan, Jessica Matten, Román Zaragoza, and newcomer Eric Nam.
Fans of the original series will also find all-new original digital content across Paramount’s platforms, as well as location-based experiences — which includes a stop at, you guessed it, San Diego Comic-Con.
They will honor Avatar: The Last Airbender with “immersive fan experiences” at the con, as well as exclusive consumer products and giveaways, all of which is to be announced in the coming months.
Is a panel for the upcoming animated film also possible? Or a panel with the original voice talent and creatives? We’ll have to stay tuned to find out.
