Question Of The Week 2025 #1: Favorite Offsite At SDCC?

This year, in an effort to feature more attendees, rather than featuring just one per week — we’re featuring lots of you! We’ll have a new question each week, so be sure to keep an eye on our social media channels for each week’s question. Without further ado let’s get into this weeks question:

Rich Chapman

Last year ours was Abbot Elementary!!  They really went all out and the wait was well worth it!

My favorite always was FANDOM back in the day. This was in 2018. I am a casual mermaid enjoying all the awesomeness!

This is an easy answer for me. Blade Runner is the best offsite I’ve been to. I was in the very first public group to go through the offsite. Really felt like you were part of the movie and the cast was great!

Lowen Garcia

Godzilla Encounter 2013, That was the most fun and memorable experience that I still talk about to this day when people ask me about my favorite times at SDCC.  I really hope they actually put a Godzilla in the water in Embarcadero this year (like last times rumors) promoting the new Godzilla movie!

Ariel Estandarte

My all time favorite offsite has got to be Nerd HQ. There you could bump into celebs, see them up close in smaller panels, have a place to hang out all day with friends, get affordable pics with celebs (and knowing the money went to charity), and also get fantastic swag. I hope one day they will come back. Comic-Con hasn’t been the same without them.

My favorite offsite was Severance.

2024 Hulu offsite was my favorite! We had so much fun running around the different areas being fully immersed into some of our favorite shows!

Jason Fong

Sacramento, CA

My favorite offsite ever at SDCC was 2015’s Ubisoft Assassin’s Creed obstacle course. It was so much fun!

Carey Sabala

Escondido, CA

I’ve been attending Comic-Con with my family since the days when it was held in the basement of the El Cortez Hotel. Every year brings incredible offsite experiences—from Hulu to Paramount to AMC—but last year’s event with the Two Sulus at the Epstein Family Amphitheater was truly unforgettable.

It may have been very offsite at the UCSD campus and required a separate ticket, but attending with my dad made it extra special. Seeing the living legend George Takei in person and hearing his incredible stories in such an intimate setting is a memory I’ll always treasure.

Jason Sarris

Cleveland, OH

Picking a favorite offsite was tough, so here are my top four:
4. Blade Runner experience —  lots to do, merch, food AND booze? Yes, please.
3. Severance — an incredible adaptation of the show, down to every detail.
2. Conan — what can I say, the man does a great show.
1. The Taco Bell Demolition Man dinner — great ambience, fun theming, nostalgia, and um, Taco Bell.

My favorite offsite is FX!! Always have the most fun there!

Michael Rodgers

My all time favorite offsite was the Dungeons & Dragons experience. It was the best organized, with short wait times. Loved the theming…and the dragon!  And had fun drinking a green cocktail with a friend.

Vince D

San Francisco, CA

Severance offsite!

We couldn’t let the readers have all the fun so some of the team here at the Unofficial Blog wanted to get in on the action as well. Let’s see what some of their favorites have been.

Kerry Dixon

Oklahoma City

The Westworld offsite in 2017 was unlike anything I’d ever experienced — fully immersive, so well thought out with so many details for fans, and the best swag I’ve ever gotten at the con (the cowboy hat sits proudly on a shelf!). I’m still left wondering how they nailed my personality with just a few questions.

Kara Dupree

Greensboro, NC

I  couldn’t just pick one favorite offsite because there have been so many over the years. Some of my favorites that I have included are the MTV Fandom Awards from back in the day (free concert and free food and drinks, what’s not to love?). Amazon Prime’s offsite from 2019, especially The Boys section. The Interview with the Vampire offsite from 2023 because it was so well put together. Lastly one that I don’t see very much: the Netflix experience from 2017 (I am hoping someone from Netflix sees this and brings another one this year for Wednesday and Stranger Things).

Thank you to all our readers for all the great replies to this week’s question!
