Under the Tents 2025: Neopets, Master Replicas, Yo Gabba Gabba, Mechanical Cake, Chris Maze, Exquisite Corpses, BeKyoot

Welcome to the weekend; hopefully it’s a long one for you all! I’d like to take a brief moment to honor and remember all those who have fallen on this Memorial Day weekend — your sacrifices have allowed us to be where we are, so thank you.

Another week has come and gone, which means we’re another week closer to SDCC 2025, so kick back, relax, and depending on when you’re reading this, enjoy a cup of coffee or have a hot dog or two, and enjoy this hefty assortment of news.

Here’s a look at what you might have missed:

    • We got an exciting look at a copy of an Exquisite Corpses comic from writer James Tynion IV. Looks like James will be stopping by SDCC on July 26 for one of his tour stops, which is when Issue 3 is slated to drop. Each stop on the tour will feature a Q&A session and exclusive merch. This is one you definitely won’t want to miss out on.

    • Even more Effin’ Birds! Author Aaron Reynolds confirmed that he will be bringing back one of his most requested pieces of merchandise from 2018 to the show this year as an exclusive. Get your guesses in now.

Shh, I’m bringing back my most-beloved, most requested piece of merchandise from 2018 as a show exclusive.

    • Priscilla Wilson teased that the first of her pieces has arrived and it might be her favorite one yet, even topping the haori from last year. I know we are all excited to see exactly what it will be.

    • Love die-cast collectibles? Vinyl stickers? Rare finds? Then you’re in luck because Green Light Collectibles has announced that they will be attending this year and will be at Booth #834. Be sure to stop by and pick up any exclusives before they are gone.

    • Mary Bellamy, otherwise known as Zorilita, announced that she will have brand new prints and stickers available based on her official sketch card sets. You can pick up 4″x6″ postcards that can be signed, or 2″x3″ stickers.

    • Comic Art Fans, which is home to over 1 million pieces of original comic and illustration artwork, has a blink and you might almost miss it confirmation that Cool Lines Art will be at the show. On their site on the left-hand side they have images of places ‘next up’, and SDCC is among the mix.

    • An indie studio, The Yaoi Army, known for their original and uncensored boys’ love content, announced their event schedule for the rest of the year, and SDCC was a part of that lineup.

    • Artist Vince Locke, known for things such as The Sandman, Deadworld, and Aqua Teen Hunger Force, announced that while he doesn’t currently have a booth, he does have a badge and is looking for options to be a guest at another booth. He also has not set up a commission list yet, but is curious what the interest level is, so be sure to let him know.

    • Elise Kova, author of Arcana Academy, will be making a stop at the con this year on her US book tour. Be sure to keep up with her website for all the details surrounding her appearance.

    • Calling all DJ Lance Rock, Muno, Foofa, Plex, Brobee, and Toodee fans! It’s Yo Gabba Gabba time! That’s right, the Toybook shared that Jazwares will have an exclusive collector’s product available at the convention, which will go along with their collection dropping this fall. While full details aren’t known yet, it’s safe to say this will be a big hit.

    • Tee On, a freelance illustrator who has vibrant beautiful art, shared via their website they will be attending the show. Check out their socials for more information in the coming weeks.

    • Rebecca Hicks, creator of Luna Sea Studios, shared that she will be in attendance this year at Booth #5535. Stop by to pick up some absolutely adorable creations. My personal favorites are the Inner Beastie Squirrel and Chinchilla.

Summer convention season is fast approaching. Let me know if you’ll be at any of these shows because I’d love to see you!

    • Super Human Anxiety, a film by Ashley Maria, shared the exciting news that the film will be screened not once, but twice during the con. Stay tuned for more details on the time and place.

    • Artist Denis Caron will be back again this year in the same Artist Alley #BB-22 spot that he was in last year. He will have tattooed ballerina art, animal portraits, enamel pins, plush, and copies of his webcomic L.A.W.L.S. Be sure to stop by and pick up something and say hello.

    • If you’re like me, then you love all things animals, so this adorable sticker sheet shared by Nan Hockin dedicated to her precious dog Moshi will be just the thing for you. A limited quantity will be available at the show and online.

    • Spoke Art shared that Los Angeles artist Josey Tsao will be at the convention this year, with lots of her fantastic art, including copies of her Starlight print, which was inspired by Miyazaki’s Howl Moving Castle. They are 12″x18″ with gold foil accents and are visually stunning. Don’t miss out on this one!

    • I know a lot of people will be extremely excited for this bit of news. According to their May newsletter, Neopets will be back at the convention this year, with a new display on the show floor, new merch, new collaborations with partners, and an exclusive meetup for attendees. More news to follow in the coming weeks.

    • Author Blake Northcott, known for her comic book Barbarella, announced that she will be at the con this year, with more details to follow. Maybe you’ll be able to pick up a copy of the book, and be prepared for when the Sydney Sweeney movie adaptation comes out.

    • If you’ve ever wanted to have some sort of replica of your favorite Star Trek ship, or just want a fun collectible figurine, then this is the news for you. Master Replicas announced in their newsletter that they will be attending San Diego Comic-Con this year. They’ll have “some exclusives based on different shows including Stargate and Foundation, and [they’ll] have the first chance for people to see [their] new lines”. Stop by Booth #531 to check out the replicas and figurines on the show floor.

    • Mechanical Cake, a comic book publisher working with Ridley Scott and his Scott Free studio, revealed to Bleeding Cool that Modville Volume 1, Chapter 1, will be a 120-page, color softcover graphic novel debuting SDCC this summer. Modville is a Sci-Fi/Southern Gothic crime drama involving AI humans in future New Orleans. The graphic novel will be very limited, with likely only 500 to 1,000 copies printed in total, and spread between SDCC, NYCC, and Thought Bubble (and possibly others). It’s so limited in part because there will be a larger, expanded edition coming in 2026 — but if you want to get your hands on it first, be sure to head to Mechanical Cake during the con.

    • And finally, our friend Chris Maze finished his final new piece for SDCC, and is now working on an original 1-of-1 artwork. He’ll be revealing his new pieces with us very very soon, so keep your eyes peeled!
