Baja Rick’s (formerly the Tin Fish restaurant) in the Gaslamp Triangle has long been a mainstay at San Diego Comic-Con. Its been home to NBCUniversal for many years — including overlays for The Good Place, Quantum Leap, Blacklist, and more. This year, though, it may be spending July as… well, just as Baja Rick’s.
According to a recent Instagram post, Baja Rick’s currently does not have a sub-lease for its location for use at San Diego Comic-Con, and is in seek of a partner for 2025.
So what does that mean? Well, obviously as of right now, NBC Universal is not taking over the restaurant portion at least.
That doesn’t rule out the possibility that they (or someone else) is taking over the full Gaslamp Triangle space though (picture where Those About to Die, Brooklyn Nine Nine, and other offsites over the years) have been. There could very well still be an activation in that portion of the space.
It’s certainly prime real estate during the con, and we are shocked the opportunity hasn’t been snapped up eagerly. So studios, it’s your move.
