Kevin Smith Teases San Diego Comic-Con 2025 Appearance & Shows [UPDATE]

Kevin Smith fans may not be getting Mooby’s milkshakes this year, but they might still be treated to sharp wit and behind-the-scenes stories at San Diego Comic-Con 2025.

While it sounds like Mooby’s, the beloved fictional fast-food pop-up from the View Askewniverse that has taken over the Tin Roof in the Gaslamp several years, won’t be returning to San Diego Comic-Con this year, Smith himself is still likely to make an appearance — just in a slightly different form.

[UPDATE June 20]

In a recent episode of Fatman Beyond, Smith confirmed that he will still be hosting his typical Saturday Hall H panel — just without the Marvel lead-in. Fans can still expect “shows” though.

[PREVIOUS]

On the latest episode of his Fat Man Beyond podcast, Smith hinted, “We don’t have Tin Roof Inn so we’re not going to be doing the movies, but I hear rumors that we may have gigs.” His co-host Marc Bernardin added, “I’ve heard similar rumors.”

The mention of “gigs” certainly sounds like Smith’s signature live comedy shows, which have been fan-favorites at past cons — and it sounds like Fat Man Beyond is likely to be one of the offerings.

That would, however, seemingly rule out Dogma: The Resurrection Tour, Smith’s traveling 25th anniversary celebration of his cult classic 1999 film. The tour, which features screenings of Dogma (a rare event due to long-standing distribution issues) followed by live Q&As, has been hitting select cities this year — but SDCC may not be on the list.

Stay tuned for official announcements, snoochie boochies.
