UC San Diego Brings Composer Michael Giacchino and Pixar’s Pete Docter Together for Live Events

Two of Hollywood’s most visionary creators are teaming up for a pair of special events during San Diego Comic-Con weekend, at UC San Diego’s Epstein Family Amphitheater (about an hour from the Gaslamp on the trolley), where ArtPower will host two evenings of music and conversation with Michael Giacchino and Pete Docter.

On Tuesday, July 22 a 7:30PM, Giacchino — the Oscar-winning composer of Up, The Batman, Ratatouille, Lost, and Rogue One, among many others — will perform Exotic Themes for the Silver Screen, a live concert experience reimagining some of his most beloved film and television scores in the dreamy, lounge-inspired style of 1950s Exotica. Tickets start at just $30.

Then, on Wednesday, July 23 at 7:30PM, Giacchino returns for Pixar’s Pete Docter in Conversation with Michael Giacchino, as the longtime collaborators and creative minds behind some of Pixar’s most iconic films sit down for a candid discussion. From the music of Up and Inside Out to their storytelling philosophies and behind-the-scenes tales from Pixar and beyond, this conversation promises rare insight into the world of animation, composition, and filmmaking. Tickets are available now from $25-$60.
