Under the Tents 2025: Frank Miller, Rob Liefeld, California Browncoats, Stephanie Williams

Hello there! All the San Diego Comic-Con announcements that have been rolling in this week are almost as overwhelming as this heatwave. Exclusives, offsites, Hall H panels, oh my!

With all those big reveals, it’s easy to overlook the smaller updates, so let’s take a look at the news you may have missed (and if you didn’t miss any of these, please consider joining our team):

  • Elizabeth Wallace showed off a batch of circuit board pendants available for purchase at this year’s Art Show (Thursday-Sunday, Manchester Grand Hyatt, Grand Hall CD, no badge required!)

  • Stop us if you’ve heard this one: James Silvani with more previews of original art available starting at $140 at his table in Artists’ Alley #II-06.

  • Free t-shirt??? Free-shirt!!! Rufus Dayglo has designed a shirt to be given to the first 50 attendees at a panel talking about the art of cartoonist Shawn Kerri.

FRIENDS OF SHAWN KERRI will be hosting a special panel in Room 4 @ SDCC this July with Greg Hetson of Circle Jerks talking about Shawn’s amazing art!

First 50 attendees will receive totally FREE this Darby Crash Skeleton/Skanking Kid t-shirt I’ve designed especially for the event.

  • For his Tuesday, pre-SDCC popup, friend of the blog Patrick Ballesteros will have 24 bags of beans available, each containing an original framed mini. Who will you get?

  • Midnight Factory’s Small Press booth (#TBA!) will have an exclusive of Joseph Schmalke and J.K. Woodward’s ONE LAST TRICK #1. Woodward will be signing daily and is also taking pre-show commissions if you contact him.

  • Upcoming cover? New print? Chris Uminga has got us guessing with this Penguin tease.

  • Speaking of things made from yarn, Nifty Neuron will have a pair of Stitches up for grabs: one via the Heinlein Blood Drive’s raffle, and one to be dropped in the wild.

  • Oooh, shiny things!!! Badali Jewelry will be posted up at Booth #715 with their range of licensed jewelry.

  • Serenity Rose artist Aaron Alexovich is making LOUD NOISES regarding his art book, WHAT HAVE I DONE?, that will be available at SDCC.

  • You can find LA-based publishing company Critical Entertainment at Booth #4014, where they will bring their The First Americans series by Christopher Reda and Tadd Galusha.

  • Locate artist Arielle Jovellanos over at Artists’ Alley #HH-24 if you’ve got an itch for some patches and/or a fun baby blue tee.

  • SDCC exclusives, ho! Preorders are up from Sean Forney, including two variants covers limited to 500 each of Thundercats #16. Swing by Artists’ Alley Table #EE-03 to grab one or, even better, both.

  • A pair of updates from Rob Liefleld: First, preorders are now available for in-person pickup on Thursday and Friday for giant-sized exclusive covers of Youngblood #1. for grabs for an SDCC exclusive. Second, there will also be exclusives through his eBay Live shows during the convention.

  • We’ve got a good look at Grapplers & Gimmicks’ first SDCC exclusive of legendary wrestler Jake “The Snake” Roberts…. well, a good look at his back, anyway.

  • This looks like just the start of Stephanie Williams‘ schedule at SDCC, as the scientist-turned-comic-writer will be signing at IDW Booth #2729 for at least three days in support of Street Sharks and My Little Pony.

  • Pinmakers Gooze Pins showed off two convention exclusive pins heading to San Diego Comic-Con. We think they look super.
