Under the Tents 2025: Megan Lara, Toddland, Glitch, FiGPin, James Silvani

Welcome to the latest edition of Under the Tents, your all-access pass into the exciting news and announcements for San Diego Comic-Con. It’s only Tuesday and we’ve already been well fed this week with Barbie Malibu Cafe tickets, the arrival of the Gaslamp banners, and the Ignition Press offsite announcement, but of course, we are hungry for more. So let’s serve it up. If you like The Amazing Digital Circus you’re going to be happy. If you’re a fan of original art, we’ve got some of that too. If you’re still trying to figure out how to score a badge, we have some volunteer opportunities. And if you like cute cats, we even have one of those.

Let’s take a look at all the delicious news:

  • Artist James Silvani isn’t holding back on the original art that he will be bringing with him to San Diego Comic-Con. All of these pieces are 9″x22” and will start at $140. He’ll be holed up in Artist Alley at #II-06, that’s “ii” as in “Aye-Aye Captain Silvani!”
  • Can there even be a San Diego Comic-Con without a Toddland “Burger of the Day” pin? Honestly, we don’t want to find out, and according to this response, we won’t have to.

  • Adi Granov (and his feline friend) are showing off a huge new banner featuring his new work (Adi’s, not the cat’s!) for the Fantastic Four. You should be seeing this art featured on a variant cover at the event and the banner will make it easy to find him (Adi, not the cat…unless???)

  • Recently, Skybound announced a brand new series from David and Maria Lapham called Good As Dead, a blend of crime noir, sci-fi, and horror. Issue number one is scheduled for September release, but according to Bleeding Cool, the title should see some promoting at San Diego Comic-Con.
  • Fans of artist Howard Shum will be able to book a commission for San Diego Comic-Con pick-up very soon. We will add the details to our dedicated Commissions post as soon as we get them.

  • “UTINI!” BB-Cre.8 has taken to their Instagram stories to tease what they have been working on for exclusives this year. Pirates! S’mores! The Zoo! We’ve spent a long time discussing what it could all mean, and we’re still not quite sure, but eagerly anticipate their reveals.
  • The Amazing Digital Circus animation studio Glitch is coming to San Diego Comic-Con, which makes a lot of sense because you could call SDCC a crazy circus-themed world sometimes. They promise “merch and mayhem” in their Twitter video, and even show off a nifty poster they will have available, featuring characters from across their properties.

  • Over on Threads, Missouri based artist Megan Lara posted updates to two of the projects she is working on for San Diego Comic-Con: a print for Andor and another for Wicked. Both are stunning, and we’re keeping our fingers crossed they will be done in time for San Diego Comic-Con.
  • Red rover, red rover, send Green Light Collectibles right over, with their new SDCC exclusive, the 1:64 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat from Neon Genesis Evangelion. Muscle cars + anime are a supercharged combination. You’ll be able to pick it up at Booth #834 during San Diego Comic-Con.

  • Looks like Monsterpalooza’s loss is San Diego Comic-Con’s gain with these spooky little stickers from Brian Bear.

New stickers! I was hoping to have these in time for Monsterpalooza but looks like they’ll make their debut at SDCC if I have room, and other horror events this year like Scream Diego and Creepie Aftermath!

  • Stephen King collector Jesse Lankford posted over on Twitter that his panel, about his favorite topic, will be returning to San Diego Comic-Con once again.

  • Well, well, well… Look at this. One of our favorite SDCC artists has gone X-rated. No, we don’t mean he’s over on Only Fans, we only mean Patrick Ballesteros is teasing some “Rated X-cellent” stickers featuring Cyclops on Twitter.

  • North County Transit and the San Diego Railroad are preparing for the influx of travelers expected during the week of San Diego Comic-Con. Starting on July 7 they will begin offering their Comic-Con branded PRONTO cards. In addition, they will be offering a very specially priced COASTER 5-pack, good for 5 days of travel on SPRINTER, BREEZE, MTS Bus, MTS Rapid and MTS Rapid Express, including free transfers. The $45 cost is 40% off traditional day passes. See their site for more details, and mark your calendars.

  • FiGPiN fans who would like to lend a hand at their booth at San Diego Comic-Con are invited to apply to participate in their volunteer program. Volunteers are needed daily from 9AM to 2:30PM to assist with line management and product sales. Volunteers will have the chance to enjoy SDCC after their shifts, will receive a $50 per day stipend for parking or transportation, snacks and drinks at the booth plus early purchase access and FiGPiN swag. Applications are limited to the first 100 volunteers, so don’t waste any time!

  • Want more opportunities to volunteer? The folks in charge of the LANFest at the Marriott Marquis and Marina are looking for a trio of volunteers interested in supporting their gaming event. $50 daily per diem offered, as well as a 4-day badge. Reach out if this sounds like your kind of volunteering job.
