Under the Tents 2025: Scott Shaw!, Rob Liefeld, Patrick Ballesteros, Val Hochberg

Now, I don’t mean to freak anyone out, but there’s only 34 days until San Diego Comic-Con 2025. While you scream into the void with sudden panic, you can also catch up on the latest and greatest SDCC news in this edition of Under the Tents. Let’s begin, shall we?

Here’s a look at what you might have missed:

  • Author/illustrator Rachel Ignatofsky was very pleased when the free posters she’s bringing with her to Booth #1631 at SDCC 2025 to promote her latest book DINOSAURS finally came. I don’t blame her; they’re adorable.

  • Want to know where to find Deadpool co-creator Rob Liefeld during San Diego Comic-Con this year? Well, you’ll have to wait a little longer; he’ll be posting his schedule the week before the con.

  • What if Peter Pan teamed up with mermaids to save Neverland from burning? That’s the question LeapsLair and Ivan Tao explore in their SDCC 2025 Exclusive Last Boy #4. Limited to only 500 copies, you can pre-order now for a discount on their website.

  • Artist Stephen Burns wants to show you how to use Blender. No, he’s not making you margaritas (though that wouldn’t be a bad idea); his panel “Unleashing the Power of Blender 3D to Build Environments For Comics” was approved, which means he’ll be busy with designs for it.

  • Disney artist James Silvani is busy making his mash-ups to bring to Artists’ Alley Table #II-06 for San Diego Comic-Con this year. I always figured Darkwing Duck wouldn’t be afraid of no ghost.

  • Baby shark doo-d00-doo-doo-doo-doo… Specifically, Baby Jeff from digital artist MaliaDoodles. Look for this adorable charm at Artists’ Alley Table #AA-20 during Comic-Con this year.

  • Here’s a creative way to let someone know you think they’re the GOAT. Artist Val Hochberg teased her latest SDCC 2025 Exclusive Sticker Sheet she’ll have with her at Small Press Table #N-12, and in my opinion, it’s not baaaaaad. Is it Lumon-approved though?
