San Diego Comic-Con is about to feel a disturbance in the Force — and it’s coming from the Comic-Con Museum.
Turner Classic Movies and Julien’s Auctions are teaming up with the Comic-Con Museum for the second year in a row, to present “Echoes From the Galaxy”, a live and online auction giving fans the opportunity to own a piece of Star Wars history. The auction will feature more than 200 rare and authenticated props, costumes, production pieces, and artifacts across the Star Wars franchise.
Fans will be able to view select pieces in person on display at the Comic-Con Museum, beginning July 14, through the auction on Sunday, July 27.
Among the most coveted items is a screen-used Stormtrooper helmet from A New Hope — one of only six known to exist — as well as Obi-Wan Kenobi’s stunt lightsaber used by Ewan McGregor in The Phantom Menace. Also up for bid is a cast resin Darth Maul saber hilt, prototype Kenner toy heads, a Resistance pilot helmet worn in The Force Awakens, and an ILM crew-signed apple box from the visual effects team that made movie magic possible.
