If you missed out on badges for San Diego Comic-Con, your next best option is volunteering (which also just happens to be a great way to give back to the con).

If you’ve been dreaming of being one of the most integral parts of San Diego Comic-Con – or if you simply want to yell “Walk, don’t run!” to Comic-Con attendees and have them actually pay attention – then listen up, because the volunteer program for San Diego Comic-Con has undergone some changes. Gone is the interest list, and instead, there will be two rounds of registration:

  • Round One (Opens January 12-January 26): Only available to those who completed a volunteer shift in 2025. If eligible, you’ll receive an email
  • Round Two (Opens February 2): Available to new and returning volunteers, stays open until full.

Volunteering is a way to give back to the con, as well as to receive a complimentary badge in exchange for volunteering for a shift (or shifts) at the convention. You receive a badge for each day you work, valid for that day.

Also new this year, the minimum age requirement is 17 — and beginning next year, it will be raised again, to 18.
