Under the Tents 2026: Hello Kitty, Loyal Subjects, Dungeon Crawler Carl, Super7, Chris Maze

Say what now?

It’s WHAT month? MARCH??! Already?

But… but… but that means that WonderCon is THIS month and then (most likely) Hotelpocalypse is NEXT MONTH and by that time it’s almost Free Comic Book Day, which is only 6 weeks from Father’s Day, which is just a couple weeks from the Fourth of July, which is basically almost San Diego Comic-Con!?

I better start packing. Or, at least planning. That’s what this post is all about, folks who are making plans for SDCC 2026. Action figures, stickers, comics, tons of “I’ll be there” notices, and even a crocheted Krypto.

Let’s get started:

  • Last year’s “Bridgerton Cats” by Martin Hsu were such a phenomenal hit that he’s decided to do it all again for this new season. Purring was heard round the Twitter-verse when he announced.

  • Artist Chris Maze is always one of our must-stop’s on the show floor, and he’s been busy at work ahead of this year’s con — which is good, because with a planned 50 to 100 3″x3″ original pieces, he’s going to need plenty of time for all that artwork! Here’s just one example of what he’ll have on hand:

  • It’s early days for art nouveau illustrator Helen Mask and their appearance schedule, but we spy SDCC on this list that they posted to Bluesky.

Just a little list of where you can find me, I'm sure I'll have some to add here and there. (also a sneak peak of the arch for my 4 horsemen of the apocalypse piece I'm working on)

  • Do you crave a cozy book nook and the company of friends? Of course you do. Then you’re going to love the art and sundries from creator Naomi VanDoren, who has San Diego Comic-Con on their schedule for 2026.
  • The important questions get asked and answered over on Bluesky…. at least when it comes to artist Amy Mebberson and her Comic-Con plans. See you there, Amy!

  • Comics illustrator Don Aguillo took to Instagram to promote his many, MANY appearances for 2026. “Eye” spy the familiar yellow-and-black logo in the mix!

  • We at the UBlog were pretty jazzed to hear that CCI has contracted with All Star Outfitters of Knoxville, TN for a whole new spread of fresh merchandise. They have already started with a collection for the upcoming WonderCon in Anaheim that features new and fun items (washi tape! patches! pins!) plus inspired apparel in a variety of styles. In a story on their local news, WVLT, All Star Outfitters also revealed that they will have 60 – 65 pieces for San Diego Comic-Con. Huzzah!
  • At Toy Fair last month Action Figure Insider captured some images of the Loyal Subjects upcoming San Diego Comic-Con exclusive, a hologram Thunderhawk from M.A.S.K. The figure glows in the dark and comes with a Matt Trakker Hologram Clone figure. No doubt we’ll have more details before the show.
  • Some of our favorite projects are secret projects. As luck would have it, artist Tom Bevis posted a little intel about his latest secret Kaiju project over on Threads. Don’t worry, Tom. Your secret is safe with us (and our 82k followers).

  • Playmates Toys is going all in on Dungeon Crawler Carl, and rightfully so. According to ComicBook.Com, Playmates will have the first wave of toys at San Diego Comic-Con, before their wider market release this fall.

  • With a schedule taking her up and down the west coast and all the way over to Legion of Sand territory in Phoenix, it’s a wonder how artist Brianna Cherry Garcia even has time to make new art. But she does, and she will bring it all with her to San Diego Comic-Con in July.

  • Another schedule includes SDCC, and that’s from artist Haley Mortensen, hailing from Ohio and making the trip to San Diego with all her cheerful works.

  • Artist and store owner Mike Mitchell is planning a pop-up shop in the vicinity of San Diego Comic-Con during the event, offering fans a chance experience just what he’s been creating at his Poor Example store in Escalon, California. You can join his very active Discord server to follow along.

  • The iconic 51-year-old Hello Kitty and her quintessential bow took to the front page of Variety to announce the news that IDW Publishing, in a multi-title partnership with Sanrio, will debut “Hello Kitty: Hello World,” a comic book series, at San Diego Comic-Con.

  • Toy and apparel champs Super 7 may have closed their San Diego storefront, but that doesn’t mean San Diego Comic-Con is off the table. In this AMA on Instagram, it was revealed that they will still have their full booth inside the convention center.

  • Independent publisher Silver Sprocket will be returning to the exhibit hall in 2026. We hope they are packing their hot pink jumpsuits again. It’s not easy to stand out in a place full of cosplayers, but they certainly managed to.

Choo-Choo! 🚂 The Sprocket train is coming around with our convention and fair list of 2026! 🤩 ✨ So far at least…. 👀 more to be announced soon~Illustration by a very sleepy Rachel Dukes @mixtapecomics.bsky.social 💖

  • Comic cover artist John Giang is also returning to San Diego Comic-Con, among other conventions, as noted by his very full schedule on Instagram.

  • Now, it’s not a contest to see which creator has the busier schedule, but if it were, we might have a winner here with Celine Chapus of Purple Top Hat. Also, for those keeping score, what appears to be our first artist likely to offer some Heated Rivalry art this season.

  • Let’s all give a big thumbs down to this bummer of an announcement on Twitter from comic-creator Rob Liefeld. As of right now, no plans for Comic-Con, or any convention for that matter.

  • The international art collective Meeting of Styles will be converging on San Diego the week before Comic-Con with live art and events from July 15 through the 19. If you’re a local or in town early, be sure to watch for announcements.

  • The Geeky Hooker is faster than a speeding bullet at crocheting the cutest little critters, so it’s only natural she would make a Superman and Krypto duo. Check out her website for details about how to find her drops.

  • One last artist announcement for you today… artist and writer Margeaux Pepoy will be at Comic-Con in Small Press at table #M-13. We hope to have her commission info soon.
