Now that this year’s WonderCon is over, it is full steam ahead (okay, maybe slow chugging ahead at the moment) towards San Diego Comic-Con 2026. And we’ve got plenty of updates for you, including how you can score a badge by volunteering with a booth, crochet critters, some Dungeon Crawling toys, artists, writers, and so much more.
Here’s a look at the news you might have missed:
- Did you miss out on a badge for San Diego Comic-Con 2026? CCI’s volunteer registration may be closed, but there are always other ways to volunteer in exchange for a badge, specifically by helping out at vendor booths. Federation Comics & Collectibles is seeking volunteers for exactly that reason, from Tuesday, July 21 – Sunday, July 26. Contact them at [email protected] to apply.

- Yesterdays are always one of my favorite stops on the show floor, thanks to their fandom-forward pins (and those heart pins sure are something). This year they’ve teased that they’re up to “something transformative“, and I for one can’t wait to see what that is.
Working on something transformative for Comic-Con, a real dream project! Excited to share more as it develops.

- Dungeon Crawler Carl is heading to SDCC in a big way. The popular sci-fi series is crash landing at SDCC with the debut of a new line of toys, according to Polygon.

- Is Naoko Mullally the best stop at San Diego Comic-Con’s Artist Alley? I certainly know my opinion… and you can see for yourself this year, as she confirmed she’ll be back again this summer. Now, I just need her to open her commission spots again…

- Are you heading to the Interview with the Vampire / The Vampire Lestat Fan Meetup on Sunday of SDCC? You should be, because Tara will be bringing some keychains featuring her photos from the 2024 panel that you’re going to want to take a bite out of (and I may just have some props to give away as well).
- Level up your Comic-Con by going on a hunt to unlock Geeky Hooker’s newest crochet creation — a 1-Up Mushroom from Mario. This 1-of-1 critter will be hidden somewhere at Comic-Con, and you’ll have to follow along on social for your chance to see if you can find it first.

- You’ll also be drawn to her next creation, a tiny crochet Magneto. You can find all the X-citing details about how to claim him over on her blog.

- Tommy Stella, Editorial Assistant at IDW and the author of Mustn’t Tell, The Days, and At the End revealed that he’ll be at San Diego Comic-Con this year… and that if you see him, he really wants you to score him one of these Mezco Toyz Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles derpy baby turtles.

- Would it even be Comic-Con without CGC? The popular comics grading company confirmed they’ll be back again this year, and so will their “pin tour”, in which fans who submit can receive exclusive pins. More details still to come on this year’s event.

- Something furr-ocious is coming to Comic-Con. Furry Feline Creatives is heading back this summer, and they’ll once again have plenty of exclusives this year, as well as their new Mewjira: The Rampage #2, the tale of a kaiju kitty tearing through the city. You can also pre-order it online now for $15.
弊社の最も人気のある書籍の続編、『Mewjira: The Rampage』を正式に発表いたします。2026年夏、世界同時発売予定です。 This willalso be available at SDCC in a very big way! Stay tuned with @SD_Comic_Con as we will be sending exclusive information. Available now for preorder! Link 👇 pic.twitter.com/2M7XhfonZT

- San Diego Comic-Con may be the “other” happiest place on Earth (and we have the t-shirt design to prove it), but we still have to give it up to the OG. Artist Sherry Lee may not have been able to finish prints for this Main Street USA in time for WonderCon, but they will be at SDCC.
- Drawn & Quarterly, the independent cartoonist magazine and publisher, has a busy schedule this year, but they’ve managed to squeeze in another stop at San Diego Comic-Con.

- It’s a Zub attack! Comic writer Jim Zub (Skullkickers, Wayward, Glitterbomb, Uncanny Avengers) is also making a stop at SDCC this summer.
- Artist Sweeney Boo will be tabling at the con this year, and she’s going to be taking pre-show commissions. Now that’s extra sweet.
I’ll also be tabling at the following this year (and will be accepting pre-show commissions).
•Montreal Comic Arts Festival – May 15 to 17th
• Montreal Comic con – July 3rd to 5th
• SDCC – July 23rd to 26th
• NYCC – October 8th to 11th— Sweeney Boo (@sweeneyboo.bsky.social) March 31, 2026 at 10:25 AM
- Comics artist Sanford Greene is also heading to San Diego Comic-Con thanks to Felix Comic Art, and they promise a lot of new sketches, surprises, and more.
- Writer and artist Frank Cho’s latest work — Outrage Book 6 — will be making its debut at Comic-Con. The collections feature comic book sketch covers and related commissions across Marvel, DC, and beyond.
C2E2 was fun. I had a blast reconnecting with my comic book peeps.
Now I get to rest for 3 weeks. Get some work done and prep for the upcoming LAKE COMO COMIC ART FEST.
Update: I have enough sketch covers done for a new Outrage book. Outrage Book 6 will debut at San Diego Comicon in July.

- Is it getting hot in here? If you feel an inferno coming on, that’s just writer and artist Christian Ward (Batman: City of Madness) announcing he’ll be at SDCC this summer, possibly in promotion of his Event Horizon Inferno.

- An elephant never forgets, and we’re not forgetting that comic writer Ryan Claytor and his Elephant Eater Comics are heading to SDCC.
Here’s where you can find me in 2026:
April 18 – Lansing Independent Comics & Zine Fest (LICZ: Lansing, MI)
May 2 & 3 – Chicago Alternative Comics Expo (CAKE: Chicago, IL)
July 22-26 – Comic-Con International (CCI: San Diego, CA)Hope to see you at these Spring/Summer events!

- One person you likely won’t be seeing at SDCC this year is New York Times Best Selling, Eisner, and Inkpot Award-winning author Dan Slott. There’s always next year!
Probably not this year. Sorry.
