Under the Tents 2026: Z2, Tony Fleecs, Elfquest, Pudgy Penguins, Martin Hsu, Eggdrop Ramen, Chris Maze

We are now less than 100 days out until San Diego Comic-Con 2026. Hopefully by now you have secured both a hotel and a badge, which means you can start focusing on what really matters… all the fun things to do, see, and buy at the con.

Here’s a look at the news you might have missed:

  • Martin Hsu’s commission season is about to be in full bloom. He revealed that this year he’ll be offering commissions of your favorite fandom characters, gazing up at cherry blossom trees. Keep an eye on our site for more information this week on how to pre-order yours.

  • Attention commission hunters, our favorite and hopefully your favorite Eggdrop Ramen will have on-site commission spots open during SDCC. Your best bet is to get yourself a pre-convention commission, but in case life gets in the way, you will also have a chance to get one during the con. You can find Eggdrop Ramen at #DD-02 in Artist Alley this year.

  • Eisner-nominated Tony Fleecs will be attending SDCC, according to the “Upcoming Events” page on Tony’s website. Tony has famously worked on everything from creator-owned Stray Dogs to Wolverine to Netflix’s My Little Pony: Make Your Mark.

  • Want to meet your favorite creators from Digital PIMP? The popular comic publisher group has San Diego Comic-Con listed on its “Tour Schedule” page on its website.

  • This is a heavy “appearance” edition of UTT, as independent comic publisher Essential Sequential also has San Diego Comic-Con listed on its Events page on its website, and they’re bringing along several artists from their roster, including Art Adams, Joyce Chin, Jeph Loeb, and David Finch, to name just a few.

  • The upcoming film, …And Out Comes The Wolf, based on the 1995 Rancid album, will have a presence of some kind at the convention this year. The upcoming film, which was written, directed, and produced by Danny Peykoff with Jamie and Jason Neese (The Umbrella Academy), is also getting a graphic novel treatment thanks to Z2 Comics — and they’ve confirmed that the writers and producers will be in attendance at the Z2 booth at SDCC this summer.

  • Any company whose mission statement includes the word “Pandariffic” needs my business. And just who is that? P.M.B.Q. Studios, of course, who puts their love of pandas into everything they do, including a wide variety of garments. P.M.B.Q. Studios will be at SDCC this year according to their website.

    • Eisner winner and New York Times Best Seller Brian Box Brown recently took to Bluesky to let their fans know they will be in attendance at SDCC this year.

    • It’s just not San Diego Comic-Con without some Elfquest. Co-creator Wendi Pini confirmed that she and Richard Pini will be in attendance this year, in part in celebration of Dark Horse Comics’ big 40th anniversary (and we expect big things from Dark Horse this year). While exact details as to what dates, panels, and signings are still TBA, we’ll share more information once we have it.

  • Hall H can already feel like a horror show — and this year, it’s leaning all the way in. Dread the Hall H, the horror anthology from Chris Ryall and Jordan Hart, is back for a second year, arriving once again on Preview Night at San Diego Comic-Con. Published by Image Comics, the new installment drags readers straight back into the convention center… where the lines are long, the crowds are intense, and the horror stories are very real.

  • Pudgy Penguins just can’t seem to put San Diego Comic-Con on ice. The digital brand is waddling back to SDCC this summer, though we’ll have to stay tuned for more of what they’re up to at the con.

  • Reptilian Media, which is currently producing the future franchise Escape to Earth, will be at San Diego this summer, sharing a table alongside Tim of Saltara Comics in Small Press.
