(Failing) to save the universe is a big job… that requires a stop at San Diego Comic-Con.
Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, the upcoming The Big Bang Theory spinoff, is hitting HBO Max on July 23 — and it will also be crash landing at San Diego Comic-Con that same weekend, according to series star Brian Posehn. In a recent episode of his podcast, Nerd Poker, Posehn confirmed that they’re going to have a “big Staurt Fails the Universe panel” at the con, and along with Posehn, the panel will also feature series stars Kevin Sussman, Lauren Lapkis, and John Ross Bowie.
Although the series features the gang of nerds reprising their roles from The Big Bang Theory, tonally, it looks completely different from the original CBS sitcom. This iteration is a multi-camera, dimension-hopping, sci-fi comedy, which sees comic store owner Stuart Bloom with restoring reality… after he breaks it, in a device built by Sheldon and Leonard. That accidentally unleashes a multiverse Armageddon, alternate-universe characters, and more.
“It’s the coolest thing I’ve ever been involved in, and I’ve been involved in some really fun stuff,” Posehn said of the series. “But this is like another level. It’s a big big TV production. Chuck Lori and Zach Penn and Bill Prady, just fucking hitting it out of the park.”
