Do the words “we are 70 days away from San Diego Comic-Con” strike fear in your heart? Every time you leave your house, do you find yourself thinking, “Better enjoy this while it lasts, because I need to be glued to my computer/phone so I don’t miss anything!”. Have you recently woken up at 4am and thought, if I don’t go back to sleep, it’s me training my body for SDCC-news season schedule?
Okay… maybe that’s all just me. But all of that is to say, Comic-Con news season is basically already here, and we are very hard at work bringing you tons of exciting updates. The return of Neopets! Working for the San Diego Convention Center during the con! Updates on exclusives and debuts from many of our favorite artists, including Patrick Ballesteros, BB-CRE.8, Effin’ Birds, and more!
So without further ado, let’s look at this news that you might have missed this week:
- Tell the world how you really feel about AI art with the help of this design from the “fowl”-mouthed Effin’ Birds. And best of all, this design will become a new enamel pin as well, debuting at San Diego Comic-Con 2026.
It’s available as a button from Threadless — visit eatf.art/ai and click “shop more styles” — and will be my new enamel pin this year at SDCC (and appearances afterwards if any are left over).

- Artist Vince Alvendia — otherwise known as Eggdrop Ramen — still has San Diego Comic-Con commissions open for a limited time. But if you’d like to order a pen and watercolor commission from him like the ones below, be sure to let him know.

- The Force is strong with this one. BB-CRE.8 make some of the finest exclusives this side of the galaxy, and they’ve got a whole new line-up of daily exclusive pins and all-weekend exclusives on deck for SDCC. And you don’t have to jump into hyperspace to see them, because they’ll be teasing them this week. We can’t wait.
#sdcc2026 teasers coming this week. We are working on some fun daily exclusive pins and all weekend exclusives too!

- Illustrator, writer, and self-described dinosaur enthusiast Emma LeRae was accepted for a booth at the con. So go give her a (pre)historic welcome and stop by to say hi on the show floor.
I’ll have a booth at San Diego Comic Con!!!

- Want to become a part of the convention, rather than just attending? The San Diego Convention Center is currently hiring for Temporary Guest Services Representatives for SDCC this summer, who support directing guests within the venue, being involved with crowd management, monitoring guest activity boarding escalators, elevators and general movement throughout the building. If interested, you can apply online now for either first or second shift.
- Neopians may want to start setting aside some of that hard-earned Neocash, because Neopets is heading back to San Diego Comic-Con this summer. Details are still under wraps, but we’d put our Neopoints on the return of a show floor booth packed with convention exclusives.

- When artist Patrick Ballesteros starts showing off his mini originals for SDCC, you know we must be getting close to con! He teased the first wave of “Blind Bean” mini originals, which will only be available at his pop-up on Tuesday before the con at Mnemonic Coffee.
- But of course, he has plenty more planned for San Diego Comic-Con, including several items currently in production, like a new pennant, three new double-sided bookmarks, two new patches, and a new surprise. Only the bookmarks have been announced so far, so there’s so much still to come.

- Artist Euniysu is the hero we deserve. Be sure to stay vigilant and follow the Bat Signal to Artist Alley #DD-10, where you can pick up this gorgeous new Batman print (and plenty of other Bat-goodies).

- Hats off to Syndicate Collectibles, who have been teasing a new release via some cryptic silhouettes — and it sounds like this one is releasing at SDCC. Who is your guess for this mysterious figure?

- Kodansha, the publisher behind manga hits like Akira, Ghost in the Shell, and Attack on Titan, is bringing the competitive spirit of Blue Lock to real life with “Blue Lock: Diamonds in the Rough”. Inspired by the popular soccer manga about an intense training program designed to create Japan’s ultimate striker, the nationwide contest invites fans to submit soccer-inspired videos and photos for a chance to be crowned the “Ultimate Striker.” The winners — along with prize recipients in categories like cosplay, fan energy, and manga creativity — will be announced live at San Diego Comic-Con. You can find more information on their site.
