Under the Tents 2026: Super7, Kehasuk, John Cusack, Patrick Horvath, KRS Comics, Galaken

For this installment of Under the Tents, we are officially re-naming it to “Under the TENTHS!” Why? Well, because this is my own personal anniversary… the TENTH Under the Tents post I have written for the 2026 San Diego Comic-Con. That’s a lot of little news tidbits… and it’s not even July yet. 🫠

But let’s make this a good one, ok?

  • Today we got a pair of updates from super cool Super 7. First, they let us know that Booth #2343 will be their location, location, location for exclusive threads, tchotchkes, and to peep all the upcoming releases. HOWEVER! There also might be an all-new pop-up experience in the area, as well. Color us JAZZED!

  • And then! AND THEN! As if that wasn’t enough, they went ahead and tweeted a tease for an Invincible Universe: Battle Beast action figure using the hashtag #SDCC. 👀 Look, we know a few folks who get a kick out of using the hashtag when they don’t really mean the hashtag, but we don’t think Super 7 would do us dirty like that.

  • Stephen Stern, the creator of Zen Intergalactic Ninja, announced that for the movie of the same name (currently in development), the role of Master Satva will be played by none other than James Pax (Big Trouble in Little China). Pax will be appearing at San Diego Comic-Con, at the 1First Comics Booth #2001, during San Diego Comic-Con. Days and time TBA.

  • Here’s another tease from comic book purveyors, KRS Comics, this time from artist Cedric Poulat. KRS always has some great exclusives and 2026 will not be the exception. They will be at Booth #734 with a stacked roster of creators, including Kyuyong Eom, Will Jack, Lucio Parrillo, and more.

  • So, if you haven’t read the brilliant but unsettling Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees from Patrick Horvath, you have about a month to remedy that. Consider it homework for an SDCC Kickoff Signing hosted by the good folks at Now Or Never Comics. This signing is FREE (!) on Wednesday, July 22 from 3pm-5pm at the store, just a short walk from the Convention Center (1055 F St., San Diego)

  • If you are a Mezco maniac all day and all night and you want to meet other maniacs, here’s a great chance to do so. The Toy Paige is hosting a Mezco Meet-Up on Saturday, July 25, at the Punch Bowl Social (1485 E Street, San Diego). The maniacs will be socializing from 9pm until close. I hope they know I mean “maniacs” in a very nice, friendly way.

  • Creator Al Sparrow is making the big leap from SDCC attendee to SDCC Small Press exhibitor. You’ll want to swing by booth #M-06 to support him and say hello.

  • Momo, the debut graphic novel from actor John Cusack, will be released in September from Mad Cave Studios, but, according to this interview in Publishers Weekly, Cusack will be attending San Diego Comic-Con in July to promote the project. This will be his first time at the show.

  • The voice of Firestar from Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends, Kathy Garver, recently posted on Facebook that she will be signing autographs and promoting her latest book Romancing With the Stars at San Diego Comic-Con. All details will be announced soon.

  • Coming soon… like Wednesday soon, are details about this year’s Bob’s Burger’s Meat-Up. At least, that’s our best guess from this teasing Instagram post.

  • Los Angeles-based artist Kehasuk will have this stunner of a piece, dedicated to Final Fantasy X. Fans can also look forward to some Final Fantasy playlist pins, as well.

  • Some of the most unique and stylish eyewear comes from the folks at Galaken, where they make protecting your corneas from the dangerous rays of the sun a lot less boring. This summer, they will be at Booth #4037, with limited edition and exclusive sunglasses. And according to this teaser… what they have coming up is COLOSSAL.
