There’s no shortage of offsites during San Diego Comic-Con, but if your sweet tooth is calling, the Candy Land Cafe may be worth adding to your itinerary.
Just in time for San Diego Comic-Con, Bucket Listers and Hasbro have teamed up to bring one of gaming’s sweetest worlds to life. The new Candy Land Cafe has officially opened at Bayside Kitchen + Bar (2137 Pacific Hwy) for a limited engagement through October 4, inviting guests to step inside colorful environments inspired by the classic board game while enjoying themed food, drinks, desserts, exclusive merchandise, and plenty of photo opportunities. The experience is open daily, and tickets are on sale now for $24.50 per person and include the 90-minute seating, $10 in food credit, and $5 in merch credit.
We recently had a chance to check out Candy Land Cafe for ourselves, and as longtime fans of the classic board game, we had so much fun being surrounded by the nostalgia. The experience leans heavily into themed food, drinks, and photo opportunities.
Every room is inspired by familiar locations from the game, from King Kandy’s Castle to the Peppermint Forest, with oversized candy props, bright colors, and playful details tucked throughout. As you make your way through the experience, you’ll also receive a Sweet Adventure Checklist that encourages you to explore each themed space before settling in for your meal.
The menu was extensive, with a solid mix of savory dishes alongside the desserts you’d expect from a Candy Land-themed cafe. Entrées include the King Kandy’s Shortcut Smashburger, Sweet Dreams BBQ Chicken Sandwich, Bon Bon Belgian Waffles, Princess Lolly’s Berry Patch Salad, and the Goody Goody Grilled Cheese. If you’re visiting with a group, shareables like the Gooey Gumdrop Dippers (fried mozzarella sticks), Frosted Forest Spinach Dip, and Nom Nom Nom Nachos are easy crowd-pleasers.
Of course, dessert is where Candy Land Cafe really shines. The towering Hello Sweetie Sundae comes piled high with whipped cream, gummies, sprinkles, glitter, and an oversized lollipop, while the Chocolate Fun-due Experience lets guests dip marshmallows, fruit, cookies, and pretzel wands into warm chocolate fondue. There are also brownie sundaes, colorful pies, cheesecake, ice cream flights, and even a decorate-your-own gingerbread man for anyone wanting a more hands-on sweet treat.

The drinks continue the colorful theme. Families can choose from Princess Lolly’s Lemonade, Cotton Candy Cloud Soda, Rainbow Mocktail Flights, and other zero-proof creations, while adults can opt for cocktails like the Candy Crystal Martini, Sugar Trail, Mint Tini, Black Licorice Rope, or shareable Rainbow Mimosa Flights.

Before heading out, be sure to stop by the merchandise area, where you’ll find exclusive Candy Land Cafe apparel, drinkware, accessories, and souvenirs to commemorate your visit.

Overall, we had a genuinely fun time. If you’re looking for an activity to round out your San Diego Comic-Con, you can reserve tickets now.
