From soda pop to country singers, you just never know what you’ll find at San Diego Comic-Con. Unless you read this edition of Under the Tents, and then you’ll, well, know.
Let’s take a look at the news you might have missed:
- Things are about to get a little uncanny, as X-Men: The Animated Series series Jubilee voice actress Alyson Court mentioned that the “plan” is for her to be at San Diego Comic-Con this year. Court is also known for her voice work in the Resident Evil franchise. We’ll have to stay tuned for more details.

- Artist JYK All Day also wants to get in on the X-Men love, and showed off the beginnings of a new POP Wagon piece that’s destined for San Diego Comic-Con.
- Eisner-winning comic book writer and artist Daniel Warren Johnson is having a very good week. Not only is James Gunn a fan of his work (as evidenced by his Threads tweet about his Wonder Woman Elseworlds), but Felix Comic Art also confirmed that Warren Johnson is scheduled for San Diego Comic-Con and there will be “special opportunities” for non-attendees.
So cool! DCEU leader @JamesGunn is the newest @danielwarrenart fan! Wait until he digs in more…read DWJ’s SUPERMAN: RED AND BLUE story, Mr. Gunn!

He also teased a behind-the-scenes look at his process into creating this Yzma original, which will also be heading to the con.
I was getting frustrated with this process and almost went back to pencil, and I had to remind myself that the messy imperfection of going straight to pen, construction lines and all, was the whole point of this. Trust the process.#sdcc #sdcc2024 pic.twitter.com/7cNdUQ28R8
