Under the Tents 2024: Tomagotchi, Reis O’Brien, Nate Powell, Peach Momoko,

San Diego Comic-Con is just around the corner, and the anticipation is building faster than you can say “only five and a half weeks away”. Very soon, badges will be in hand, panel announcements will be coming fast and furious, and your checklist of exclusives you want will be longer than an itemized hotel bill in the Gaslamp. But for now, we’ve got plenty of news to tide you over, including the return of Bandai’s Tomagotchi brand, Reis O’Brien blind bag pins, and more.

Let’s take a look at some more exciting news:

  • Here at the UBlog, we love a good announcement reveal. And artist Sean Galloway has a really fun teaser to announce that he’ll be back in Artist Alley this year, at table #DD-17.

  • Ever wondered what goes into the making of superhero suits in your favorite films and TV shows? You can learn firsthand at the “Supersuits from Concept to Reality” panel, which features costume designers and costume concept artists from The Boys, Titans, Deadpool, and more, including Gina DeDomenico, Sarah Mgeni, Andy Clement, Jessie Raye, LK Shannon, and Shannon Short.

  • We’re bewitched by how Nan Hockin continues to bring the cuteness with every new reveal. This time, she is showing off new 5″x7″ prints, this time celebrating Kimchi and Korean BBQ, as well as some little witches.

  • You can never have enough bags, and with Nerds Comictopia, you can elevate your accessories. They create beautiful wristlets and purses, inspired by your favorite books, plays, musicals, films, and more, for bags that truly let your fandom shine. Stop by their booth to pick up a new bag.

  • Tamagotchi is back! Bandai’s Tara Badie & Anita Komatsu confirmed on a recent podcast for RaTamaZone that the brand will be back at San Diego Comic-Con this July, and teased “fun stuff” that will be a departure from what they’ve done in the past. Color us intrigued.

  • In Reis O’Brien (creator of Tiny Ghost)’s new pins, Deadpool is using his mouth for something other than saying foul things… Get your mind out of the gutter! We meant that he’s eating! O’Brien will have three “Deadghoul” blind bag pins available at the con, though only one has been previewed so far.

They’re ready to take us to school with Sister Posters, in which sisters Faith & Charity discover they have super powers and must navigate their new discovery while trying to fit in at school. Their latest issue, Summer Vacation!, will be heading to San Diego Comic-Con next month.

  • May the exclusives be with you! BB-CRE.8 is always cooking up something exciting for fans at the con. This year, they’ll have daily exclusives (which they offered up a tease for), so make sure you stop by each day to snag one before they vanish to a galaxy far, far away.

  • As exciting as all of this Comic-Con news is, we do have one bit of bad news to share: Artist Peach Momoko will not be attending this year, but you know what they say. There’s always next year!

  • Prepare your party! Story Quest, a live TTRPG with a rotating cast of talent, will be performing a live one shot at their San Diego Comic-Con panel. The entire cast of the upcoming season one will be in attendance.

  • The gate is open! Artist Jeff Pina has been hard at work creating new original art for his booth at SDCC, including this Stargate piece.
