Under the Tents 2024: Tony Bui, Genevieve Santos, Unknown Comics, LaDarrion Williams

It’s Thursday, and I can almost see the weekend from here, if I squint a little. With a good pair of binoculars I can also see the week of Comic-Con, which is quickly approaching. In today’s wonderful and wild roundup, we have everything from prints to autographs, and panels to meetups. Pull up a chair and let’s see what we have in store for you on this Fourth of July…

Here’s a look at what you may have missed:

  • Street Noise Books, founded by publisher Liz Frances, focuses on books that provide a platform for marginalized people. Graphic Policy announced that Street Noise will be participating in a panel titled “Publisher Weekly’s Book Buzz – Spotlight on Independent Publishers and New Imprints” on Thursday, July 25th at 3:30pm in Room 24ABC. This is sure to be an informative panel for any book lover out there.

  • Masked Republic shared their exclusive gatefold variant print. They have collaborated with Jeffrey Everett, aka Rockets are Red, for this Rey Mysterio and Tinieblas Jr. print. It will only be available at live Masked Republic lucha events and conventions, so head to Booth #1901 to get your hands on this one-of-a-kind piece.

  • Any X-Men fans out there? Whether you’re part of the old-school crowd, or more new to the fandom, you’re going to enjoy this. Unknown Comics is back again with two guest announcements. Catherine Disher, the ovoice of Jean Grey from X-Men: The Animated Series, will be appearing on Friday and Saturday. A.J. LoCasio, the voice of Gambit in X-Men ’97, will also be appearing at the booth, on Saturday only. Be sure to stop by Booth #2834 to get a chance to get a photo, autograph, or just have a conversation with some of your favorite voice actors. All Unknown Comics signings are paid (they take cash or card) and first come/first serve at the booth.
