Want to do something genuinely heroic during San Diego Comic-Con? The San Diego Blood Bank is once again hosting the annual Robert A. Heinlein Blood Drive at the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego during SDCC week.
In addition to helping save lives, donors will receive an exclusive convention-themed T-shirt while supplies last (both a badge of honor and an exclusive!).
Appointments are available from Wednesday through Sunday during the convention, though walk-ins are also welcome, and you do not need a Comic-Con badge to participate.
Plan to set aside about an hour for the full donation process, including check-in and the blood draw itself.

[UPDATE June 3]
Here is a look at this year’s Marvel t-shirt, which will given away to all who donate on-site during the con (or at a friendly neighborhood San Diego Blood Bank Center location between July 27 and August 31), while supplies last.
Want to donate beforehand? Simply let them know the donation is for Comic-Con and request a certification of donation. Then on-site during the convention, you’ll bring your certificate to the Blood Drive location at the Hyatt hotel, where you can pick up your t-shirt.

You can find out more about the history of the Robert A. Heinlein Blood Drive on the San Diego Comic-Con website.
