Bucket Listers is bringing a sugary new pop-up to San Diego just in time for San Diego Comic-Con.
The company behind immersive favorites like last year’s The Malibu Barbie Cafe (as well as other nationwide pop-ups like Saved by the Max and The Golden Girls Christmas) is teaming up with Hasbro to debut the Candy Land Cafe, a limited-time interactive dining experience inspired by the classic board game. The experience will be at the Bayside Kitchen + Bar (2137 Pacific Hwy, San Diego, CA 92101).
Beginning July 9, fans in San Diego will be the first to step into a real-life version of Candy Land, wandering through colorful environments based on locations like Mr. Mint’s Peppermint Forest, King Kandy’s Castle, and Jolly’s Gumdrop Mountains. Along the way, guests can complete a Sweet Adventure Checklist, decorate cookies, and snap plenty of photos among the oversized candy-themed sets.
The menu will definitely satisfy your sweet tooth, with items including rainbow burgers, chocolate barbecue sliders, towering milkshakes, and a shareable “Chocolate River” fondue experience. Both zero-proof drinks and cocktails will also feature interactive, candy-inspired touches.
“Bucket Listers is thrilled to work with Hasbro to bring Candy Land to life in a way fans have never experienced before,” said Berry. “This is more than a café—it’s a full journey through one of the most popular games of all time. San Diego was the perfect place for it to make its debut this summer.”
“At Hasbro, we’re always looking for new ways to bring our brands to life beyond the game board,” said Matt Proulx, SVP of Global Experiences, Partnerships and Music at Hasbro. “Candy Land Café transforms a timeless favorite into a multi-sensory experience, inviting fans to explore, engage, and play in a way that feels immersive, joyful, and entirely new, while staying true to the magic of the original game.”
The Candy Land Cafe opens in San Diego this July for a limited engagement, from July 9 – October 4, with slots from 3pm-10:15pm.
