Question of the Week #2: What’s Your Favorite Exclusive Ever From SDCC?

In an effort to feature more attendees, rather than featuring just one per week — we’re featuring lots of you! We’ll have a new question each week, so be sure to keep an eye on our social media channels for each week’s question. Without further ado let’s get into this weeks question:

My favorite SDCC exclusive is the Leia Holographic Statue from Gentle Giant I purchased in 2017!

Deon Sinquefield

I have quite a few favorites, so I’m going to use my 2 favorite 2025 exclusives:

First up is the Cold Slither action figure set…AND FREAKING ALBUM!!! The second I saw the set on the UBLOG, it was an instant “shut up and take my money” moment, topped off later by not only the concert (mentioned in the last Attendee of the Week) but a signing at the convention center by the group. Sadly…I didn’t get recruited into Cobra.

The second is the Void Rivals 3-pack, which also included a con edition of Void Rivals #1. I later got redemption with Robert Kirkman after he LITERALLY ran out of the panel back in 2024 as I was the last one up to attempt to get an autograph on my issue of Void Rivals #1 (first printing). He faked an attempted runaway, but signed the con edition with a laugh.

How about a very special ticket to the premiere of Inglorious Basterds, signed by Eli Roth? Still have that and the poster from that movie.

Those Conan O’Brien exclusive Funko Pops were an odd trip to obtain on occasion.  At times, I would find myself lined up practically in the bay during the early morning hours for these suckers. And, fortunately, eBay helped at times.

One of my favorite exclusives that I got from SDCC came from Funko Fundays in 2016. It was the one and only Funko Funday that I was able to get into. That night, I received 3 random Freddy Funkos that were amazing. It wasn’t until I got back that I realized how rare and special these were. That party was so much fun. Hopefully someday I can go back again.

My favorite exclusive was obtained before we were able to actually attend the con. We are relative newbies as far as attending SDCC, this only being our third year.

In 2022, NECA featured the figure from the movie poster of John Carpenter’s The Thing, for the 40th anniversary of the film. It is greatly detailed, and the face even lights up.

One of the things that make conventions great is being able to find such niche pieces that make you stop in your tracks and say, “I can’t believe someone made that. I must have it!”

While not a formal SDCC Exclusive item…one of the most valuable pieces/experiences we have is getting to meet Mike Becker of Rokomoto (and formerly Funko).
We’ve been Funko collectors for years and getting to meet him and thank him personally for all the joy he’s brought us over the years with his creativity was the most exclusive experience we could have ever asked for! And the autographed poster was an absolute treasure that we have displayed in our office!

Favorite exclusive ever?! From SDCC?!? That’s such a loaded question! If I had to choose one I would have to go with the Funko exclusive Conan O’Brien as Iron Man. Sure, it’s not the most coveted of exclusives, but for me it holds a lot of amazing memories of that year. I was brought up on stage by the warm-up comedian, Gary Cannon, to be part of a dance-off before Conan’s show that day. Then he decided to separate me from the rest of the dancers to mimic the dancing of two girls. So I became an integral role for the warm-up of that day’s Conan. Later that day as I was getting on the iMDb boat I started hearing my name…the boat right next to it had Team Coco hanging out and chanting my name. I realize I need a TLDR for this, but that one exclusive means a lot for an amazing day at SDCC.

One of my favorites is definitely the Simpson Comic Book Guy, a 2011 exclusive of Hallmark.

What is so special about it? Well, the t-shirt is cool, also what the character represents, but most important, this little fellow has been my lucky charm every single year since 2011 when it comes to the time to get the tickets, and so far, he has never failed me!

Last year I was already in bed doomscrolling when this TVL poster dropped on their IG channel friday night.  I lept out of bed and ran from my hotel near Petco to the front of the Hilton Gaslamp.  I was lucky.  A few were still blue-tacked to the wall.
Sam Reid signed hat from a previous Mayfair Witches and Interview with the Vampire SDCC signing.
Still searching for the guitar pick from SDCC and a 1iota TVL Beacon Theater queue conversion invite!

Tough question because I actually have TWO favorites (both artwork), but I’m going to choose this serigraph from Shag! because I love all things Batman ‘66! Na-na-na-na-na-na… BATMAN!
This premiered at SDCC 2022. The one pictured here was hanging in his booth but I bought this exact colorway and hung it at home in my own Batcave.

My family enjoys shopping at the Con.  One of my favorite exclusives is Mr. Hankey from South Park because my son finds the show hilarious.  He’s old enough to watch it now, which makes me feel old because the cartoon first aired when I was in high school.
Jennifer Seghers
Sacramento, CA

2020 Entertainment Earth Twin Peaks RR diner bobblehead featuring an owl and the Log Lady’s log sharing a slice of cherry pie and a cup of coffee with the red room floor, Dale Cooper’s tape recorder thrown in for good measure? I still can’t believe it exists.

My favorite piece from SDCC is the Funko Mike Wazowski glow chase from 2011. To add to its uniqueness, it has been graded.
