We made it to the end of another week. Time to sit back, relax, and catch up on all that Comic-Con news you’ve been meaning to read. Fortunately, we’ve got it all right here for you, including announcements from Disney artist Amy Mebberson, Effin’ Birds, and a lot more.
Why are you wasting time reading this intro? Let’s get right to the news.
Here’s a look at what you might have missed:
- Even artists sometimes get overwhelmed, and Disney artist Amy Mebberson is no exception. Although she won’t be able to open her pre-SDCC 2026 commissions (The Commish is sad), she is taking walk-up requests at her Artists’ Alley table during the con. As always, it’s first come, first served, so visit her early to make sure you make it on her daily list.

- It can’t rain all the time (in fact, it hardly ever rains during San Diego Comic-Con). Like Eric Draven himself, comic book artist Mico Suayan is a man of few words, but he used just enough to share this cover variant of The Crow: Dead Time you’ll find at Big Time Collectibles booth.
- “What is this, the 2260s, amiright?” It’s not the bridge Ensigns Boimler and Mariner visited – Nacelle Toys is beaming into SDCC 2026 with their replica of the original USS Enterprise bridge (“no bloody A, B, C, or D”) from the classic Star Trek series that started it all. Of course, it won’t be finished until the orange paint is added.
- “Where was that vendor I wanted to visit again?” The Exhibit Hall at Comic-Con can be a challenge to navigate, even with a map, compass, and this really cool website that has the best SDCC news, so Effin’ Birds made a calendar event to help you remember to visit them at Booth #2049 during the con this year. Tell them we said hi.

- What will you find when you get there? That’s a really good question whose answer was teased over on Bluesky. Look for new pins, some “killer freebies,” and fall previews at their booth during SDCC this year.
Debuting new pins at SDCC, plus a pair of killer freebies and a preview of something coming out in the fall.

- Speaking of calendar events, the folks at Pain in the Assets Collectibles have San Diego Comic-Con 2026 marked in their calendar. Look for them and their amazing blind boxes at Booth #1615 throughout the con (not just between 11am-12pm on Thursday, July 23).
- “Oh, Kermie! I’m a sticker!” If you’re old enough like me to remember the classic Muppet Show “Pigs in Space” sketches, you’ll recognize artist Jeff Pina’s next SDCC 2026 sticker he’ll have at Small Press Table #Q-06 right away.
- 247 Comics is making the most of their recent partnership with TOKYOPOP. Swing by Booth #1837 during SDCC this year to get a peek at all the new manga content they’re planning from their new joint venture, “247 Comics Powered by TOKYOPOP.” Look for their exclusive announcements to start next week, June 22.
- DC/Marvel comic book artist and writer Howard Shum shared a Supergirl drawing he did as well as the announcement that he’ll be back at San Diego Comic-Con this year in Artists’ Alley at Table #DD-24. If you’re planning to request a commission from Shum before the con, look for that announcement “soon” (The Commish is ready).
Here’s a drawing I did of Supergirl based on a cover by Ed Hannigan. I’m going to be at San Diego Comic-Con next month in Artists’ Alley DD-24. I will be taking pre-show commissions soon. #sdcc pic.twitter.com/cM4SRNYN03

- Collider’s editor-in-chief Steven Weintraub set the UBlog chat a-twitter with speculation when he tweeted this SDCC 2026 last-minute panel tease. Any guesses?
something that was not scheduled to be at @Comic_Con might be getting added. The panel would world premiere footage and I’d moderate. Wish I could say more because it’s a project I’ve been excited about for a long time. Hope to confirm by Monday. pic.twitter.com/e8EcCwdHKY

- “A-tea for two. A-two for tea.” Join Tea with Tolkien founder and author Kaitlyn Facista during SDCC this year for her book signings. Find her at Mysterious Galaxies Booth #1119 on Thursday, July 23 from 11am-11:30am PT, and throughout the convention at TheOneRing.Net’s Booth #1934.
Come see me at #SDCC! So far I have two book signings scheduled! @MystGalaxyBooks (booth 1119): Thursday, July 23 from 11:00-11:30 alongside Tom Racine @theoneringnet (booth 1934): Throughout the convention! Come hang out!
I’ll have books to sign & tons of freebies. 🫶 pic.twitter.com/qSEoLqPELG

- I’ll be the first to admit that putting on pants is not my favorite thing, but if it means getting to meet New York Times Bestselling Author Stacey McEwan as she stops at SDCC 2026 on Thursday, July 23 at noon as part of her book tour to promote her latest title, A Forsaken Prophecy, it just might be worth it.
- If you’re looking for solid San Diego Comic-Con 2026 coverage that isn’t the SDCC Unofficial Blog, Publisher’s Weekly just published their own “What to Expect at San Diego Comic-Con 2026” piece that includes panel news, who’s expected to show up, and who’s expected to unexpectedly sit out (Of note: Skybound will be sharing a booth with Image Comics again and will have two panels, and Drawn & Quarterly is back with even more Moomin merch).
- The Nerd Store recently announced their TMNT 300 SDCC 2026 exclusive. The connecting set of four covers by artist Chad Hardin will be available at Hardin’s SDCC booth or in-store beginning July 22. Look for online pre-orders to begin “soon.”
