One of my favorite things to do when traveling is to track down filming locations from movies and TV shows I love. I’ll bring printed screenshots of specific scenes and try to line them up with the real-world locations. We’re certainly not the first to do it, but my girlfriend and I have been doing it for years, and have started planning entire trips around visiting places from our favorite shows.
It makes travel feel a little more interactive, turning a simple sightseeing stop into something closer to a scavenger hunt. It also gives you a whole new appreciation for the locations themselves when you see them outside the frame. And later, when you rewatch the show, there’s something special about recognizing a place and thinking, “I’ve stood right there.” It adds another layer to both the trip and the story, making each one feel a little richer.
All of which is to say, if you love Interview with the Vampire and are planning a trip to Prague (or New Orleans… or Paris… or Toronto…), I can’t recommend enough that you try this exercise yourself. User ileftmysoulinnorway has incredibly helpful maps listing the locations for each, to help you navigate (but I also encourage you to check Google Maps street view to get a feel for exactly what you’re looking for when you get there ahead of time).
But let’s show you some of the Prague locations:
Týnská St.
Týnská ulička 1, Staré Město, 110 00 Praha-Praha 1, Czechia
This is the exterior for the Théâtre des Vampires, and it features in most episodes of season two, including when Louis and Claudia first arrive, Claudia and Madeline flirting outside after the Baby Lu performance, and the other Coven vampires getting ready for their night ride.
The Estates Theatre
Železná, 110 00 Praha 1-Staré Město, Czechia
This is the theatre where Armand sees Lestat perform on stage, and then later, where the two share a box with Gabriella (and while it’s featured in season three as well, that was a recreation of this location — they didn’t return to Prague). If you’re hoping to sit in the exact box seat, it’s the boxes on the first balcony, center right, Row 17. There are other filming spots in the pit and in another box.
Note: You will need a ticket to the performance (but why wouldn’t you want to spend more time in this beautiful space?!)
Naplavni St
10, Náplavní 1618/6, Nové Město, 120 00 Praha-Praha 2, Czechia
This is the exterior of Louis’ apartment, as seen when he and Armand come up from the sewer and share their first kiss. It’s also where Santiago spies on the apartment later in the season.
Vyšehrad
8, K Rotundě 81/6, 128 00 Praha 2-Vyšehrad, Czechia
The Vyšehrad is one of Prague’s most famous landmarks, and it’s also the place where Armand confronted Lestat. One small thing to note: The texture on the wall Lestat gets thrown against was a facade, presumably for padding (though there was a real wall underneath), so you won’t be able to match marks up exactly to it.
Prague Congress Centre
5. května 1640/65, 140 21 Praha 4-Nusle, Czechia
The “Peachtree Expo Center” that Daniel has his season-ending call with Louis outside of, in which the audience learns he’s a vampire, is really the Prague Congress Centre. The call itself takes place by the main entrance.
But if you’re looking for the stairs where he follows an unsuspecting victim, go just around the corner of the building.
Kinsky Garden
Kinsky Garden is home to several locations from the series, so let’s start with probably the most famous, the “Loustat” and “Loumand” park bench scene in the rain. It’s close to the entrance on Šermířská.
From there, it’s just a short walk to the wall where Louis saw a vision of Lestat (coordinates: 50.08038, 14.39946).
We could never find the exact location of Louis and Armand’s first location, but it’s supposedly just a stone throw’s away (coordinates: 50.08055, 14.40017), and maybe you will have more luck than we did.

Thunovská St.
Malá Strana 192, 118 00 Praha-Praha 1, Czechia
This is the location of where Louis finally got his revenge on Santiago, slicing off his head.
Radnické Stairs
Loretánská 173/1, 118 00 Praha 1-Hradčany, Czechia
When Armand drags Claudia home from breaking curfew to visit Madeline, he drags her up some stairs — which are the Radnické Stairs, in a charming little area of town.
Loretánská St.
Loretánské nám. 109, 118 00 Praha 1-Hradčany, Czechia
That argument continues nearby on Loretánské street, where Armand also notices Santiago eavesdropping and threatens him.
We didn’t stop to do them, but there are also several coven motorcycle stops nearby, which you can find on the map.
