The hunt is on! Sonic the Hedgehog is racing into San Diego Comic-Con with a real-world “Chaos Hunt”, where fans can track down Emeralds in a nationwide scavenger hunt in celebration of Sonic’s 35th anniversary.
In the game, Dr. Eggman has scattered the Chaos Emeralds across the country before they can power Club Chaos (otherwise known as the final stop, a real party in Brooklyn on October 9), and Sonic is calling on fans to help recover them before his longtime nemesis gets there first.
San Diego Comic-Con attendees can join the adventure on Saturday, July 25, from 10am-4pm in the Gaslamp Quarter. Although additional details on the exact location are still TBA, fans can track down the activation to scan the QR code to be entered for the chance to win exclusive Sonic prizes, including the ultimate grand prize: a VIP trip for two to the grand opening of Club Chaos in New York City, complete with airfare, hotel accommodations, and event tickets. Better yet, San Diego is the only stop where fans will also have a chance to win an exclusive Leblon Delienne Sonic sculpture.
The nationwide Chaos Emerald hunt also includes stops in:
- Los Angeles (Venice Beach): June 27
- San Diego (Gaslamp Quarter): July 25
- Chicago: August 1
- New York City: August 15
