Studio 12-7 Debuts Gritty Neo-Noir Drama at San Diego Comic-Con 2026

Authentic autobiographical elements are blended with moody small-town drama in Studio 12-7’s Westside: Volume 1, making it’s debut at San Diego Comic-Con 2026, in Artist’s Alley, booth # EE-11.

With Merced, California under siege, deputy sheriffs and unlikely partners, Hope and David are polar opposites, forced to work together investigating a spate of violent crimes in California’s Central Valley.

Drawing from deeply personal, autobiographical roots, writer Justin Giampaoli (Starship Down, Rome West) has crafted a layered and slow burning crime drama, with illustrator Dave Law (Dungeon Crawler Carl, Wolf Punks) providing dramatic and bold black-and-white art, setting a distinct tone for the neo-noir tale. Artist Arthur N. Ebuen provides a variant cover for the collection.

San Diego Comic-Con attendees will be able to meet writer Justin Giampaoli, at the Studio 12-7 Booth #EE-11 in Artist Alley:

  • Thursday, July 23 – 10am -11am
  • Friday, July 24 – 3pm – 4pm
  • Saturday, July 25 – 2pm -3pm
  • Sunday, July 26 – 11am – 12pm

Additionally, attendees can purchase a set of prints featuring the cover images, $15 for the pair, for FREE with the purchase of any two books: Westside, ©alifornia, or Systemic, while supplies last.
