Question of the Week #8: What Is Your Favorite Booth At SDCC?

In an effort to feature more attendees, rather than featuring just one per week, we’re featuring lots of you! We’ll have a new question each week, so be sure to keep an eye on our social media channels for each week’s question. Without further ado, let’s get into this week’s question:

Deon Sinquefield
Houston, TX

That’s a loaded question, but if I’m completely honest… The Chris Maze booth is my favorite hands down. It all started with his July 10, 2022 post for the “I am what you made me” Darth Vader print. I saw that and was an instant fan. Little did I know, Chris Maze and his wife (Maureen) would become my friends… hell, GOOD friends. The booth is warm and inviting as well as put together in a way that everyone can see the aMAZEing (see what I did there) artwork. If you (yes… I’m talking to you… the person reading this) have not visited the booth yet, then I implore you to do so and experience the awesomeness that their fans have come to know and appreciate.

When you see him, tell him Deon sent you, but I can’t guarantee that he “won’t” call security on you if you do.

I mean, c’mon now…how can you NOT be a fan when you’ve been immortalized doing the “Manly Handshake”?!

With the 30th anniversary of Pokémon in full swing this year, my favorite is definitely the Pokémon booth!

It has been an absolute standout the last few years since the Pokémon animation panel was a success in 2023. It’s hard to pick just one moment. 2024 was amazing to have the highest-grossing franchise return to the booth promoting Pokémon Horizons (2024-present) and explore the immersive world of Liko, Roy, Dot, Captain Pikachu, the Rising Volt Tacklers, and their rivals, the Explorers. However, 2025 took the beloved franchise to the next level! Getting to pick my partner Pokémon was incredible, and choosing Gyarados was the iconic moment at the booth.

I chose Gyarados not just for its Water-type, but it connects me to my favorite heroine Misty, the proud Gym leader of Cerulean City in the Kanto region (who is also a longtime friend of Ash Ketchum, Pikachu, and Brock in the anime). Watching her solo story in the dubbed sixth episode, “Cerulean Blues” (from the spinoff series, Pokémon Chronicles (2006 by 4Kids Entertainment), inspired me to channel her strength. I dedicated that Mega Evolution moment not only to the character of Misty, but also to the actress who gave a youthful voice to her, the late Rachael Lillis (1969-2024). Lillis defined and shaped many iconic female characters for generations. The anime community and fans will always remember her.

I also attached the memories I made: from 2024 when I had a picture of myself wearing Captain Pikachu’s hat and posing with trainer Liko and her partner, Sprigatito (courtesy of The Pokémon Company); in 2025, I included a selfie of myself holding the Pokémon Mega Evolution card (and successfully erased the QR code in Photoshop for privacy and protection), photos and video clips of the experiences, and a digital fanmade drawing (made entirely from sketching and Photoshop) of Misty (in the center) and her team — Gyarados, Staryu, Azurill, and Corsola — and even added Togetic (the evolved form of Togepi, upper right hand corner), and a special dedication on the bottom left corner: “In loving memory of Rachael Lillis, the original English voice of Misty.”

I am so excited to hear that Sideshow Collectibles has come to its senses and will be returning to the convention floor for 2026. Definitely my favorite overall booth. It was traditionally my very last stop on Sunday before the dreaded departure from the convention for another year. I always blocked out a nice chunk of time to check out the amazing displays, and it was my go-to feel-good closure to the con. I have missed that tradition the past few years, but you will find me browsing the booth on Sunday again! Hooray!

Favorite booth at comic con is Butts on Things, so much fun and good line management.

There’s one booth that I loved to go to every year. It has not come back since the pandemic. It was the amazing WB booth. I would visit that booth multiple times a day for giveaways and to see the celebrities they bring there for autographs.

I was lucky to get cast autographs from casts of Arrow, Flash, Supergirl, Fringe, and Riverdale. Even if I didn’t get an autograph ticket, I could still squeeze into the massive waves of people circling the booth to see the celebs and take pics from a distance. Those good ol’ days of getting in line at 2am to line up for the ticket raffle at the WB ticket line in the Sails Pavillion are long gone.

The WB booth will always be a part of what made all those years at SDCC so memorable. Hopefully they will come back someday.

Our fav booth every year has to be the LEGO Booth.

My favorite booth at SDCC is always the Mattel booth.

My favorite booth to stop at and check out and buy from the grinchiest, most uniquely insane artist on the Con floor: Alex Pardee.

And the only reason I’m risking bringing him to the attention of all the cool people on this account who would sell out his wares before I got there is because I managed Preview Night and he will be my first stop.

As a t-shirt aficionado, I can’t wait to see what he cooks up this year.

When I was able to weather the long line; to manage to get in line before it’s capped, at the end there is a promised land known as Marvel booth. In the past couple of years, its photo-op has been awesome! And the pin giveaway is quite fantastic as well. Fingers crossed for something Avengers, or Dr. Doom photo-op this year!

I miss when SciFi had a booth.

I LOVE visiting the Con Rangers booth. The badges are just so playful and fun, they’ve become my first stop on the floor. I began buying from them when they were just starting out, over in Small Press, and it’s been so fun to see them grow into one of the Con staples.

In fact, I have a whole SDCC tradition with the badges. The week before Con, I take all of the previous year’s badges that I purchased and sew them onto my Con bag. It takes a while, so it gives me a chance to look at all my old badges and remember the moments they represent, and I get all psyched up for what’s ahead.

I also love the women in the Con Rangers booth. They are super engaged and love to talk about their company. And each year they don’t just add new badges, they add ways of commemorating the Con. Last year (or the year before?) they added surveyors’ mark pins to their lineup, demarcating the exact location of their booth. I mean, does it get nerdier or more SDCC than that?

There are so many booths I always love seeing on the floor (especially Artist Alley and Small Press to support the smaller vendors). Booths like Funko, Nickelodeon, Star Wars, Disney, WB, etc. Always have fun things I want to see but hands down the best booth I’ve seen on the con floor has to be the LEGO Con booth from last year.

Their massive model of the convention center and con floor was so creative and full of so many wonderful details, I could have spent hours there just trying to find all the Easter Eggs. It was amazing!

San Diego Comic-Con features many incredible booths, and while we all love the major setups like Marvel or Sideshow, my personal favorite is actually a smaller one.

I visit Matthew Wolf’s “The Ronin Saga” booth every year. I have watched it grow since my first Comic-Con in 2013 when I purchased the first book in the series. Now, I return annually to pick up new releases and encourage others to explore the fantasy world of Farhaven.

For me, independent writers, artists, and designers are what make Comic-Con truly special. I hope we can all continue to support them.

My favorite booth has to be the Vikings booth from 2015. It was one of those experiences that was just pure fun. They dressed us in Viking costumes, and had us battle with Viking weapons while ultra slow-motion cameras captured every swing. The final video had dramatic effects and over-the-top blood splatter straight out of the show.

We kept trying to get a reservation all weekend and finally scored one on Sunday. My sister was especially excited since Vikings was one of her favorite shows. We all embraced the cheesy fun, laughed the entire time, and ended up with some fantastic videos that we still enjoy watching and sharing today.
