Check into the weirdest resort at Comic-Con. The adult animated sci-fi comedy Isla Monstro is making a splash at San Diego Comic-Con this year with a schedule that includes a booth, panel, party, and exclusives celebrating the film and its expanding universe.
If you haven’t yet checked into Isla Monstro, the film follows Duke, an unlucky cruise passenger who washes ashore on a top-secret island overrun by mutants and monsters created during a failed 1980s DARPA super-soldier experiment. Rather than run for his life, Duke decides to turn the abandoned island into a tropical vacation destination, with the creatures as the staff. What could possibly go wrong?
On the show floor, fans can visit the “Isla Monstro Tiki Bar” at Booth #2002, where they’ll find Blu-rays, DVDs, VHS tapes, the debut issue of the new comic book series, soundtracks, merchandise, and Comic-Con exclusives. Cast and crew will also be signing, with exact times TBA.
The fun continues on Thursday, July 23, with “Pardy Harder in San Diego,” a free, 21+ party at Madhouse Comedy Club from 9pm–midnight. No Comic-Con badge is required, and attendees can expect themed drinks, giveaways, special guests, and the chance to hang out with the cast and crew.
Then on Saturday, July 25, the team heads to Room 6BCF for the “Isla Monstro Unleashed” panel from 7:45pm–8:45pm. Director Steven Shea will be joined by composer Rob Reider, lead illustrator Logan Van Der Wolf, cast members James Schrader, LeeAnna Vamp, Gigi Edgley, Atif Myers, and moderator Danielle DeNicola for a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film, with additional guests still to be announced.
