Under the Tents 2026: Rhode Montijo, Jose Pulido, Top Cow, Nan Hockin, Bioworld

It’s been another quite eventful day, and I’m here to share even more news with you. Are you overwhelmed yet? I won’t ramble on and on in my opening like I usually do and bore you, but just in case even the barest minimal of talking, or rather reading, exhausted you, maybe take a quick nap before scrolling further so you don’t miss out on anything because there’s quite a lot.

Here’s a look at all the goodies …

  • Original Goodstock in association with A Shop Called Quest and ASCQ-Moss will be celebrating their third year at the convention with not one, not two, but three different shirt designs, made with distressed details and style that give a San Diego feel in colors everyone will be familiar with. A different design will debut each day, Thursday-Saturday, while supplies last. The first 50 people in line to purchase their collaboration will also receive a free gift as a thank you. You can find them at Booth #4517.

  • If those shirts weren’t enough to satiate your clothing palette, then maybe this will do the trick. Hyde Hermit Studio in collaboration with Boss Monsta and CoolKoinu will have some fun design exclusives, including a button-up and drinking glass. You will be able to pick up these exclusives at Booth #609.

  • In keeping with the clothing theme, Brittnee Braun shared a super cute Snoopy print skirt, and it sounds like this is just the beginning, as this was the first reveal of convention prints, with more to come. I’m definitely intrigued to see what else is in store. Be sure to check out Booth #1320 to pick up one for yourself or the Snoopy lover in your life.

  • Brave animal explorers and cuties The Pawsmonauts who make scientific discoveries and friends across the cosmos revealed a Pawsmonaut Patch arriving just in time to make their debut at the convention. You can find them at Table #G-9. They will also have a restock of previously sold-out copies of the Global Dispatch, which you can get for free with any purchase. If you mention the word “STARCHART” you can get their new Ground Crew ID badge for free!

  • Artist Jose Pulido shared one of the originals that he will have available during the con. Featuring a baseball-playing skeleton with a Wonderbat, he will have anywhere from 5-100 originals depending on progress made this week. These one-of-a-kind original artworks will measure 4″x6″ and will include a sticker grab bag with purchase. If you somehow miss out on picking up something, you may be in luck, as anything left over or completed after the convention will go up on his website in early August.

  • Fans of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will definitely want to make a note to get to artist Chad Hardin‘s Booth #4503 very quickly to get their hands on these sets of connecting covers celebrating the 300th issue of TMNT. On one set, you get the four favorite turtles, Donatello, Michelangelo, Raphael, and Leonardo. While the other cover features Shredder, Beebop & Rocksteady, Krang, and Baxter Stockman. Supplies are limited, and they will run out fast. Why aren’t you already in line?!

  • I always love a good and cute button. You should have seen the messenger bag that I had during my college years, buttons all over the front and up and down the strap. If these would have been available back in the day, I would have definitely picked up a few to add to my bag collection. … I suppose it would be helpful to know what I’m rambling about. Nan Hockin shared that she had a big bag of buttons of her early artwork that she will be bringing with her. The buttons will be just $1 each, which is a steal with today’s prices, and from the ones you can see in the picture, you really can’t go wrong with any of them.

And if you were interested in knowing more about the pricing of some of Nan’s other art pieces, specifically the 4 x 6″ or 5 x 7″ ones, she shared that all mini prints are $8 each or 3 for $20.

  • Nature is really pretty. While sunrises and sunsets tend to get all the love, moonrises are also beautiful. Artist Robin Street-Morris was inspired by a moonrise that occurred in their backyard in San Diego and created a mixed media painting that will be available during the Comic-Con Art Show.

  • Speaking of art, Rachel Reed shared new merch fan art inspired by Sailor Moon that will be heading to the convention next week. I really love how each of their names are drawn into the bottoms of their skirts, making it flow effortlessly into the drawings. You will be able to find her at #BB-02.

  • Artist Sean Galloway can’t believe that the convention is already next week. Neither can I! He will be bringing three new mini prints, and a lot of original and traditional art to sell. He will also have art books, stickers, prints, variant covers, and more. You can find him at Artist Alley #DD-17.

  • Character designer and comic artist Aaron Alexovich, who is behind the designs of characters from Invader Zim, announced that he will be at the convention for one day only on Saturday, July 25. He will be at the Aah! Real Indie Authors Booth #G-03. Pick up the 25th anniversary Zim print, his new book Shock City Punks, and assorted other unpleasant odds and ends.

  • Not to be left out of the clothing announcements, Bioworld Merchandising, the parent company of Heroes & Villains, will be debuting a wide array of  Star Wars merch, including items from the latest installment of The Mandalorian and Grogu. One such item is a t-shirt featuring Grogu holding an Anzellan, and hopefully he’s not calling him a “bad baby”. There will be plenty of other merch available, including more apparel, pins, bags, accessories, and even suitcases. These items will only be available on the convention floor at the Lucasfilm Pavilion Booth #2913.

  • Everyone’s favorite fantasmical all-cardboard booth, Rhode Montijo will be back this year at his usual space Booth #1329 and he shared a couple of sneak peeks of things that you will be able to find. The first being an adorable Itty Teeny Tiny Ghost Book and the second a fun “This place is definitely haunted” keychain.

  • Eggdrop Ramen shared they will be bringing a few of their favorite pen and watercolor 3.25″ x 3.5″ drawings. You can find them in Artist Alley #DD-02.

  • Whoever said learning can’t be fun? Ashyfeet Games announced that they will have a few nature games available at their Booth #5532. They will have Pocket Parks, which is a rummy style game with 16 suits featuring National Parks; 14ers which is a game about climbing the highest peaks in Colorado; and Biome which is a tableau builder where you make combos of different plants and animals.

  • Back in the heyday of teen heartthrobs you had your Jonathan Taylor Thomas’s, you had your Andrew Keegan’s, your Rider Strong’s, your Joshua Jackson’s, and my personal favorite Brad Renfro(RIP). There was however another: Devon Sawa, and when I saw this news announced that he will be a part of the Fangoria panel on Friday, July 24th at 8pm in Room 23ABC, my teenage self internally freaked out a bit. He’s done plenty more awesome things since his teenage heartthrob days, of which I’m sure will be discussed during this panel. But if you see me at the panel or around giving him googly eyes, no you didn’t.

  • Ginger Blue Publishing announced that you will be able to see authors Gini Koch and J.B. Garner at Table #D-10. They will be selling books and more, and you will even be able to catch them both on the Streaming Has Changed Media Forever Panel.

  • Top Cow is really going to wait and leave everyone wondering, because they won’t start to reveal their plans until next Wednesday. We do know that they will be joining Image Comics at Booth #1915, and they did share that you could be the first to get your hands on The Darkness #6 Silver Foil Exclusive by Marc Silvestri, Witchblade #23 Spot Foil Exclusive by DaNi, and The Darkness Vol. 1 TP Spot Foil Edition, available for the first time at SDCC. Plus, there will be new announcements, creator signings, limited collectibles, panel announcements to come, and more surprises throughout the week.
  • More clothes! If there’s one thing I can promise, you definitely won’t have a lack of options to choose for apparel this year. Spooksieboo Kimberly Perez shared this adorable glow in the dark ParaNorman shirt that will be available at their Booth #2748. It’s limited edition and limited in quantity, so run and get yours quickly before it vanishes.

Featuring artwork by Katya Sinyukhina with Mötley Monröe this limited print run features four different covers with only 350 of each cover available. Cover C is exclusively found only at Booth #4401. Foil, leather, and metal editions will be auctioned off on their Whatnot shows during the convention. Once these sell out, they are gone, so don’t miss out on your chance to grab a copy.

  • Comic author of La Mano del Destino, J. Gonzo shared there will be ashcans available at Booth #4039. He will also be doing signings on Friday from 1:30-3:30 and on Sunday from 3-4. There is also a panel on Saturday from 2-3.

  • Also, if you attend the panel on Saturday you will receive a free print made by J. Gonzo. I absolutely love the bright colors and vibes of that sort of artwork.

  • If you’re a big fan of One Piece and specifically the character Luffy, then you might be interested in this. Artist Scott Lost shared his SDCC Metalprint debut. The print is limited to just three 11 x 17″ metal prints for the entire show, so if you’d like this for your collection, you need to send him a DM.

  • KikiDoodle Art shared two absolutely adorable lanyards featuring cats. These are perfect for the crazy cat ladies like myself, or just the normal everyday cat lover out there if you don’t want to fall into the stereotype and give yourself any sort of label.

  • In addition to the adorable lanyards, she also shared some new original art, new prints, and new blind box glow-in-the-dark pins.

  • Here’s another example of how talented artists are and how much I’m not. Agnes Garbowska gave us a look at some My Little Pony Kayou cards that she is working on with new markers. I love all the vibrant colors and think they are turning out wonderfully. Be sure to stop by Artist Alley #DD-01 to pick one of these up, or anything else she may have.

  • Be sure to stop by and say hello to Jackie Dallas on Saturday from 2:30pm-7pm and Sunday from 10am-1:30pm in the Sails Pavilion to be entered into a free raffle. See kids, sometimes it pays to be nice and say hello to people.

  • Fans of Everquest will be excited about this fun swag you will receive if you attend the panel. An exclusive EverQuest Legends San Diego Comic-Con poster and a collectable pin featuring the Froglok, EQL’s froggy fan-favorite.

  • Jeff Pina revealed all the books that he will have available at his Booth #Q-06. Ranging from superhero star-crossed lovers, to slacker pawn shop workers selling items to heroes and wannabes, and an anthology series showcasing the heroes and villains that interact with the world of Dr. Oblivion, you’ll want to get your hands on these to keep up with all the stories.

  • Attendees that attend the “DNA of Fear: How New England Shapes Modern Horror” panel on Saturday, July 25th from 4pm-5pm in Room 9 will receive this awesome print of Pennywise by artist Joseph Schmalke.

  • Batman fans take notice. Astrovault Comics shared an exclusive Absolute Batman #22 cover by Mark Brooks featuring SDCC Harley Quinn “Punk Gig Poster” Variant. These will only be available at Booth #4903 along with other Comic Sketch Art talent.

  • Saved and Spoiled the comic about a rescue dog and a pedigree cat shared some of the things that will be available at their Small Press Table #O-13. They include a Comic-Con exclusive book, fun dog tags, keychains, stickers and free bracelets. Stop by and say hello, and share stories of your pets, because we all know that pet owners could go on and on and on about their pet babies, at least I know I could.

  • And last but certainly not least, author Johnny Parker II of the parody comic book Ewoks are Better Than Hobbits shared that he will have a special variant edition of the book with an absolutely adorable cover created by none other than Val Hochberg. Ewoks are Better than Hobbits is based on the theory that what it took the Hobbits 5 years to do, Ewoks can do in 5 days (because they’re dope like that!). The Ewoks were always one of my favorite parts from Star Wars, so I’m inclined to believe that they are in fact better than Hobbits. Each book is only $10 and there will only be 100 copies available, and each book also comes with an exclusive sticker set as well. Be sure to stop by Small Press N-14 and pick up your copy before they run out.
