Welcome to the GeekShot Photo Exclusive Series. This will be a regularly recurring post featuring cool, interesting, or just plain awesome moments we have captured during San Diego Comic-Con and WonderCon over the years. Each post will include a photo by Beth or James of GeekShot Photography. We may include a short story about the photo, but sometimes we’ll just let the photo speak for itself.
About This Photo
Yvette Nicole Brown at the SuperMansion panel at WonderCon 2018.
Normally when I photograph a panel I have to take a bunch of photos and hope a few here and there catch a good expression or pose. Every once in a while I capture something great. And then there’s the much rarer event, a panelist who actually poses for you. Yvette Nicole Brown blessed me with just such a pose near the end of the SuperMansion panel.
At some point one of the panelists asked for the lights to be brought up in the audience so they could see who was asking questions. So when I had my camera aimed at her, Yvette noticed and posed exactly as you see in the photo. I fired off a few shots and then put the camera down. As soon as I did she put thumb up with a questioning face in the universal sign of “Did you get it?” And I put my thumb up with a big smile for the universal sign of “YES!thankyousomuchforposing!” I hope she caught all that. But just in case, thank you so very much to Ms. Brown for posing for me during the panel.
Oh, and as she mentioned during the panel, SuperMansion is on Crackle. For free. Go watch it.
Have you ever had a panelist pose for you at a panel (or some other crazy rare moment you captured)? Let us know in the comments.
