San Diego Comic-Con is just around the corner (we’re currently just 28 days away!) — and there’s no clearer sign of that fact than when the annual SDCC banners start going up around the Gaslamp and San Diego. Marvel has sponsored the banners for the last several years – promoting such properties as Thor: The Dark World, Guardians of the Galaxy, Ant-Man, Doctor Strange, Thor: Ragnarok, and more.
However, with Marvel Studios not appearing in Hall H this year, would they still sponsor the banners this year? Most of our readers guessed yes in our annual poll, suspecting we’d get a cool new look at Captain Marvel. And it turns out, you were half right – Marvel is indeed sponsoring the banners again, but it’s not Captain Marvel gracing the banners. Instead, this year’s banner designs are all about The Avengers: Infinity War – with six designs featuring Marvel 10th anniversary posters of some of your favorite characters (like Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, Hulk, and Black Panther), and on the reverse, five different designs featuring a larger roster of characters from The Avengers: Infinity War. The colors, you might notice, are Infinity Stone colors.
