Legendary artist Alex Ross always comes to San Diego Comic-Con with some amazing exclusives, but Superman fans should be especially excited for today’s announcement.
We have your first look at a new piece from Alex Ross, called “Kal-El: The Last Son of Krypton“. The illustration (a 16″x”20″ fine art giclée on paper) depicts a minimalist, expressive rendering of the Man of Steel. Hailing from the planet Krypton, Kal-El is orphaned after his planet is destroyed. With the destruction of all who inhabited his planet, Kal-El becomes the Last Son of Krypton.
It’s the second piece in this minimalist style, following Ross’ earlier “Wonder Woman: Goddess of Truth.”
Each print is elegantly presented with hand-deckled edges, and comes signed by Ross. Each piece is also hand-numbered, and includes a Certificate of Authenticity. “Kal-El: The Last Son of Krypton” will be making its premiere at San Diego Comic-Con this year, through Alex Ross Art – the official art dealer of Alex Ross.
It’s limited to just 50 pieces, and will retail for $395. You can pick it up at the Alex Ross Art booth at San Diego Comic-Con. For those who can’t make it to the con, Alex Ross Art will offer a limited number available online starting on preview night, Wednesday, July 18. Fans interested in purchasing the piece are highly encouraged to join the waitlist on the Alex Ross Art website.
