The game is on!
SherlockeDCC — formerly the popular Sherlock-themed Comic-Con fan party and meet-up — died last year, but it’s now mysteriously returned, much like Sherlock Holmes himself.
Revamped, renewed, and reborn, SherlockeDCC returns to San Diego Comic Con this year as a scavenger hunt. The Baker Street Babes have unearthed a lost Sherlock Holmes story, and Dr. Watson needs your assistance to figure it out.
The Great SherlockeDCC Scavenger Hunt will kick off on Wednesday, July 18, and will run throughout the end of programming on Sunday, July 22. Throughout SDCC week, you’ll complete tasks, solve clues, and “make a fool of yourself in public as you try and track down the best Dr. Strange and Iron Man cosplayers to take a video saying ‘No shit, Sherlock’ for 1,000 points”.
Some tasks will be worth more points than others, but will also vary in degree of difficulty. At the end of the convention, points will be tallied and three awards will be given to participants for:
The Napoleon of Crime: Highest point award
The Consulting Detective: Most tasks completed
The Gold Star Award: Awarded to a team who tried really hard and made the organizers laugh
There is a $5 entry fee to join the hunt, with the chance to win over $500+ worth of prizes from Big Finish, Geeky Teas, Hogwarts Running Club, Hero Within, Masterpieces, and more. There’s also a $25 tier (limited to 30 slots), which gets you a mystery swag bag with hand-printed screen prints, DVDs, books, and more worth $50-$100.
Scavenger hunt participants can join as an individual or as a team.
