Kevin Tong San Diego Comic-Con 2019 Exclusives, Releases

Artist and illustrator Kevin Tong somehow manages to instill a sense of kinetic ethereal energy to all his artwork. They often provoke a sense of halted motion, as if time is standing still in the middle of a tornado. Tong’s work has appeared on the Atlas Obscura Travel Calendar, on prints from Mondo, on gig prints, in a series of Infographic prints and on numerous personal art prints.

Kevin Tong will be bringing a selection of new and old items to his booth at San Diego Comic-Con. You can find him at booth #833 where he’d love to talk about his cats and his recent world travels. All items will be on sale starting on Preview Night and will remain on sale throughout SDCC or as long as supplies last. Any remaining prints will be sold on his website shortly after SDCC ends. Watch  Kevin’s social media for more SDCC surprises.

Deep in rural Vietnam, this waterpark, once a source of fun and amusement for children and adults alike, was abandoned and nature reclaimed it.

Pixies St. Paul Gig Print
This is Kevin’s third time working with Pixies, one of his dream bands. He finds it to be an interesting challenge to create posters for them that have a unified theme, but each does something new and refreshing.

Regular Print – $40
18 x 24 inch screen print with metallic, enamel, and split fountain inks
100 lb Cream cover paper, signed AP edition

Foil Variant Print – $60
18 x 24 inch screen print with metallic, enamel, and split fountain inks

Peregrines
Although “Peregrines” is an art print version of the Pixies poster, the print technique is very different and experimental compared to the gig poster. With this one, Kevin wanted to create a strong sense of texture, bold opacity, and layering, like a painting. He feels this gives the prints a much more immediate feeling.

Red Version – $65

100 lb Cream cover paper, signed and numbered edition of 40
