San Diego Comic-Con is going to be haunted this year — by CBS’ Ghosts.
The comedy TV series, which recently finished its first season, is based on the BBC series of the same name and follows Samantha Arondekar (Rose McIver) and her husband Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar), who inherit a home filled to the rafters with, well, ghosts.
As part of CBS’s “Summer of GHOSTS” immersive marketing campaign honoring the “recently departed” first season and its upcoming sophomore season this fall, Ghosts will be treating attendees to a Pinecone Trooper Pete’s “Friend Zone”, which will have a campsite feel in honor of scout leader ghost Pete whose archery accident left him with an arrow through his neck for eternity.
Fans will be able to stop by Thursday, July 21 – Sunday, July 24 at the Interactive Zone at Petco Park, where they’ll be treated to a “scare-free” archery activation. This Woodstone Mansion “lawn” will be a place attendees can connect with ghosts and “the other side” through psychic mediums and programming that will give attendees insight their past present, and future lives.
It will be complete with A-frame-inspired tents for shade, activation stations, and campsite snacks.
Throughout the week, they’ll also be giving away branded camp mugs, whistles, sunscreen, and bandanas.
[UPDATE]
Fans can also stop by the Petco Interactive Zone on Thursday evening for an in-person special screening honoring the spirited title characters and the living leads of TV’s #1 comedy, on Thursday, July 21 at 7:30pm.
[PREVIOUS] Launching at the same time as the activation, CBS will also be letting fans cross over into the Metaverse Woodstone Mansion, bringing several of the NFTs and experiences with it to online. It will be a way for fans to “bring ghosts to life” — virtually.
There’s no word yet on if we’ll also see a panel, but it seems likely.
So ready your troops, and get ready for some ghoulish delights.
