Chuck Jones Gallery Pop-Up Gallery/Meet & Greets
As San Diego Comic-Con continues to spill further beyond the convention center each year, The Chuck Jones Gallery in Seaport Village (809 W Harbor Dr E4-B, Lighthouse District) is a must-stop destination for lovers of art and animation. The gallery, which was created in honor of the legendary Looney Tunes animator Chuck Jones, serves as a quieter, art-focused counterpart to the chaos of the convention floor, with a full week of programming, artist appearances, and animation artwork planned during SDCC week.
Running Wednesday through Sunday, the gallery’s Comic-Con events will feature original animation art, new releases, and special presentations tied to the spirit of the convention. Several artists will also be appearing throughout the weekend, including:
- Thursday, July 23 — Disney artist and seascape painter Steve Barton debuts his first-ever original Looney Tunes artwork collection during a special Comic-Con appearance.
- Friday, July 24 — The Simpsons animator Stephen Reis discusses his career, creative process, and work in animation.
- Saturday, July 25 — Animation director and licensed Warner Bros., Hanna-Barbera, and Disney fine artist Ben Olson appears for a special guest presentation and collector event.
Exact times are still TBA.
