‘Doctor Strange’ Scott Derrickson Teases SDCC Appearance

Everything’s starting to look Marvel-ous for a return of Marvel Studios to San Diego Comic-Con this year.

Not only did Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 director James Gunn tease last week that he would “like to go” to the convention and “bring some friends along”, but banners in the Gaslamp district went up overnight featuring Marvel’s Doctor Strange. And now, director Scott Derrickson has all but confirmed the appearance with this tweet:

If Marvel’s in, we expect both Doctor Strange and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 to take to the Hall H stage, as Strange wrapped filming earlier this year and Guardians will be finished shooting by the end of June, so there would be plenty to show off to attendees. Plus, there’s plenty of casting announcements still to be made (Captain Marvel, anyone?) – so Marvel could make the big, splashy show that they felt they couldn’t last year.
