[Editor’s Note: It’s been a very long week, so we’re bringing back… the Friday Fun Poll!]
San Diego Comic-Con 2016 has seemed an awful lot like it’s boldly going, at times, towards… inconsistency.
And by that, we mean that it seems like there are two competing themes, each trying to take dominance over this year’s convention. On the one hand, everything seems to be coming up Star Trek with offsite world premiere screenings, panels, art exhibits, and so much more to celebrate the franchise’s 50th anniversary for The Year of Star Trek.
And on the other, we have the dreaded/beloved/somewhere-in-between Shruggie, the somewhat unofficial mascot of this year’s convention so far. No matter how great the hotel waitlist process seems to be going right now (and it does seem to be going well!), the scars of Hotelpocalypse run deep. Are onPeak, CCI, and various other entities really just that much more muddied in their responses and information this year? Or are we finally just tired of putting up with it? There’s only one true answer: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
So we’re asking you, dear readers, which is the real theme of this year’s Comic-Con? Is it The Year of Star Trek, or is it ShruggieCon 2016 for all?
