Under the Tents: Rick and Morty, The Geeky Hooker, Skybound Entertainment, Sideshow Collectibles

By now, you’re sifting through our reports on SDCC’s Wednesday and Thursday schedules looking for the coolest panels, or maybe you’re making plans to wait in the Hall H Line with a slice of cherry pie and a damn fine cup of coffee for the Twin Peaks panel. Either way, we have even more great SDCC news for you. And guess what? There’s crochet!

Here’s a look at what you might have missed:

  • Skybound Entertainment and Rival Games have partnered to bring Robert Kirkman’s comic book series Thief of Thieves into the gaming world with a new interactive game based off of the comic. The game will be demoed for the first time ever at San Diego Comic-Con at the Future US booth (Booth #241) and will be available on Steam in early 2018.

  • Artist Jordan Monsell plans to debut an SDCC exclusive Wonder Woman print at his Small Press Table #M-05. He’s limiting his release to only 50 prints, so if you’re interested, you’ll need to get to him early.
  • Denny Riccelli, creator of Cousin Harold, promised he was working on something for SDCC. He made good on that promise when he posted this image of his Cousin Harold SDCC Special.

  • Sideshow Collectibles’ Court of the Dead revealed this SDCC 2017 exclusive pin but have yet to reveal how to acquire it. Stop by Booth #1929 to see if they can shed any light on it for you.

  • And if that’s not enough new Court of the Dead items for you, Sideshow will also have this Valkyrie they’re teasing. You’ll have to go to Booth #1929 for the full reveal.

  • Artist Sean A. Murray showed off some of his unique prints he’ll have available at SDCC this year. He’ll also have them available on his online store after SDCC.

  • I am Groot. I am Groot.*
*Translation: It’s another UTT, so there has to be crochet. Crochet artist Jennifer Nolan will have this adorable Baby Groot at her Artists Alley Table #BB-22.

  • In other crochet news, if you’re interested in The Geeky Hooker’s signed copies of Literary Yarns but can’t make her meet-up, Quirk Books is also selling signed copies at Booth #1636.

  • Avengers, assemble! Danny Trang will have this Captain America print available at his table he’s sharing with Jonathan Chu in Small Press #H-04.

  • If you’re looking for an adorable postcard to send to a special someone, you need to stop by Nan Hockin’s Table #F-11 in the Exhibit Hall.

  • 3A artist and producer Siuyin will debut her new book at SDCC. Look for it at 3A’s Booth #734.

  • Artist Liana Hee will have a very limited amount of her Mini Mint Fishies at Booth #4715 along with beautiful mini-prints and a lot more.

  • If Liana Hee’s pins don’t appeal, you can stop by Satellite Soda’s Booth #4623 to check out these Funky Love Bot and Badfunk pins. If you are wearing a cardigan to SDCC, we hope it’s part of a cosplay, and you’re at least keeping yourself hydrated in the San Diego heat.

  • Artist Justin Sane gave a pretty nice breakdown (and an awesome redesign of the CCI logo) of what he and his buddy, John Sageman, will have at Small Press Table #M-01.

  • Artist Christopher Uminga is bringing a lot to SDCC this year, not the least of which is this new Reaper print he’ll have with much more great work at Table #BB-18 in Artists Alley.

  • Zen Monkey Studios attempts to tickle our metaphorical pickle with their Rick and Morty pin they’re bringing to Cartoon Network’s Booth #3735.
