Warner Bros. is making a surprising move at WonderCon this year, by bringing the hotly-anticipated Ready Player One to the convention just a week ahead of its March 29 premiere.
On Saturday, March 24, WonderCon Anaheim attendees can head to the Arena at 12:25PM for a first look at the upcoming film, “and meet the high five and Ernest Cline”.
That’s a strange phrasing – and it’s worth noting that the only name bolded on the official schedule is author Cline’s – but it seems to imply that Cline will be in attendance, along with most of the cast, which includes Tye Sheridan, Olivia Cooke, Lena Waithe, Win Morisaki, and Philip Zhao. While not part of the High Five, the film also stars Ben Mendelsohn, T.J. Miller, and Simon Pegg.
The panel only lasts until 1:10PM, which doesn’t leave much room for another movie to be promoted – but it’s not out of the question that we could still get a small teaser for something like, like Aquaman or Rampage.
[UPDATE] In addition to the panel, you can also sign up now for an autograph signing with the cast, set for Saturday as well. Make sure you hurry, though, as the deadline to apply for the autograph lottery is Wednesday, March 14 at 10AM PT. [Thanks to Ian Carruthers for the heads up!]
