2019 will see the 50th anniversary for San Diego Comic-Con, so you can expect big things — but not, apparently, from Warner Bros. in Hall H.

IGN first reported that Warner Bros. is “foregoing any sort of Hall H panel presence” this year at the convention, choosing instead to focus only on their horror slate at the ScareDiego event on Wednesday, July 17 with It: Chapter Two. Wonder Woman 1984 director Patty Jenkins later confirmed the news on Twitter as well.

This is huge news, as Warner Bros. has been the only truly consistent mainstay in Hall H for years.

The studio definitely had no shortage of films they could have brought along, including Joker, Birds of Prey, Scoob, Wonder Woman 1984, Godzilla vs Kong, and more.

This announcement shouldn’t affect the TV side of Warner Bros.

At today’s Produced By Conference, Deadline confirmed that Toby Emmerich, Warner Bros. Studio Chairman, revealed that Warner Bros. plans to return to San Diego Comic-Con in 2020 with its DC feature slate — and that for 2019 they simply weren’t ready to “pop material” just yet on Joker, Birds of Prey, or Wonder Woman 1984.

If they hold true to their word, that should mean that fans next summer will get an early look at Matt Reeves’ The Batman, and James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad.
