Under the Dining Table: Patrick Ballesteros, Bundy Manor, Dominic Pace, Jin Yung Kim, BugTV+

The table is set with the finest of linens, the cornucopia is positively overflowing, and the paper turkeys are… well, are doin’ whatever paper turkeys do in the lead up to the big feast. Lucky for you, we have filled this gravy boat full of exciting and fun news for the upcoming Comic-Con Special Edition in San Diego. The full programming schedule is now online but you’ll want to leave yourself plenty of free time for mini originals by a certain artist whose name rhymes with Hattrick Mallesteros, voice actor Bekka Prewitt, a full on bounty hunter from The Mandalorian and so much more.

Let’s take a look at the new you might have missed:

  • Los Angeles based artist and creator of the comic book GUN, Jack Foster will be attending CCSE and is promising to bring along some prints for your perusal. He’s already shown us two of the six prints he’s planning on bringing with him. This is Foster’s first time attending a CCI event, but hopefully not the last.

  • Eggdrop Ramen Studio artist, Vince Alvendia, will be setting up shop in Artists Alley over the Thanksgiving weekend. Be sure to drop by and check out their books Dark Agents Book I: Violet as well as Trial of Trauma.

  • The fully funded Kickstarter project, Bundy Manor, a feature length horror film about an extreme haunted house that goes too far, will be debuting its full trailer during its panel at CCSE. Expect the whole cast to be there to see the reactions.

  • The good folks from Machine Comix, publishers of Tribal Force, Tales of Elysium and more, hope to see you at their booth in Artist’s Alley. San Diego Comic-Con Special Edition is their debut convention so let’s help make it a great one for them. You’ll be able to pick up exclusive convention merch and get a look at their upcoming projects.

  • Celine Chapus, also known as Purple Top Hat on Etsy, will also be found in Artists Alley. They acknowledge what we’ve all been thinking, that CCSE is just the morale boost we need right now.

  • After a day of shopping, cosplaying, going to panels, and general merriment, you might just need a night of raucous laughter. Check out comedy by Kim Congdon and Sara Weinshenk at the Upper East Bar, the rooftop venue at the Hotel Solamar. Tickets are available on Eventbrite.

  • Voice and Mo-cap actor Bekka Prewitt, seen as Bela in Resident Evil VIII:Village, will be be offering autographed items in person at Comic-Con Special Edition, in addition to a panel appearance.

  • Independent publisher Committed Comics will once again be offering Portfolio Reviews at their booth in the Small Press section of CCSE. For a few hours each on Friday and Sunday you’ll be able to show off your skills to this emerging and exciting company. Perhaps we’ll be writing about you in a UTT post next summer?

  • Just after “When will badges ship?” on our most asked questions list is “Will Patrick Ballesteros have his mini originals?” We are happy to say the answer is YES! Fair warning that these gems always go quickly so maybe don’t fill up on too many mashed potatoes and impede your swift walk to his booth in the mornings.

  • In our last UTT we showed you Jin Yung Kim’s (JYK All Day) delightful Squid Game print. This time we’ve got a look at the HyperDimension Armor Rider Pao sticker that you can receive for free with any purchase from him at Comic-Con Special Edition. You can find JYK All Day in Artist’s Alley AA-12.

  • You’ll want to seek out Dominic Pace at CCSE, who will be in costume as his character, Gekko the Bounty Hunter, from The Mandalorian. Photos, autographs or a combination of both will be available. This is the way.

  • Looks like independent streaming service BugTv+ will be bugging out all weekend long as part of their BugCon event. Who knows what shenanigans they have planned but they are sure to be entertaining. BugTv+ features content from Bug Mane, Mike Mitchell (The Doughboys), Scott Gairdner (Moonbeam City), Alec Robbins (Mr. Boop), Craig Healy (Clip Cup), Cait Raft, Joe Hartzler (Acting Tips) Van Robichaux and more.

  • And finally today, fans of Destination Fear on The Travel Channel have…errrr… nothing to fear, as the whole gang will be in attendance at Comic-Con Special Edition in San Diego. Not just for a panel, but also an autograph signing. We’ll keep searching for more details and promise not to ghost you.
