San Diego Comic-Con is just a few short days away, and you can just feel it in the air.
Hotels and other buildings in the Gaslamp are already getting “dressed up” for the convention, anticipating the arrival of Comic-Con attendees. Parks and Cons is on the ground, getting a look.
Isn’t she pretty? Setup continues on the tents.
[UPDATE July 18 #12]
At the Omni, Krapopolis reigns.
Is this the first time the Omni has gotten wraps inside? It’s the first we can remember, anyway. And they’re incredibly fun.
The elevators are also wrapped.
[UPDATE July 18 #11]
Over at the NBCU Fan Corner, several quick photo op stations have gone up, for everything from Chucky to Quantum Leap to Reginald the Vampire Hunter.
[UPDATE July 18 #10]
Over at the Hilton Bayfront, our creepy dolls trio have made significant trio. Ah, FX always brings us the creeps, and this American Horror Stories wrap is no different.
At the FX offsite, there’s plenty of foilage. We’re pretty sure the bright colors in the background will be for Nadja’s club from What We Do In the Shadows.
Over at Petco, Nathan Fillion has also joined The Rookie and The Rookie: Feds line-up.
[UPDATE July 18 #9]
At the Hilton Gaslamp, Beavis and Butt-Head are the heroes we deserve.
[UPDATE July 18 #8]
Are you ready to step into the world of House of the Dragon? Here’s a look at the overlay, which looks both giant and impressive.
[UPDATE July 18 #7]
There’s more Severance on the other side of the Hard Rock, and it seems to be going much faster. Your orientation begins here for your induction to Lumon Industries.
[UPDATE July 18 #6]
So there’s good news and there’s bad news with the never-ending work on the Severance wrap. The good news is that the right side looks complete.
The bad news is that apparently there’s a whole other side they have to complete. Will this be done by July 24? No one knows.
Nearby, the Krapopolis wrap on the Omni looks to be complete.
And at the NBC Fan Corner, things are just getting started.
We spy SYFY’s Reginald the Vampire Hunter.
And the ghost (and bones) of La Brea offsites past. This skull was also at the Comic-Con Special Edition offsite.
[UPDATE July 18 #5]
And the big spotlight wrap on Petco Park appears to be… The Rookie!
[UPDATE July 18 #4]
While we’d been told that this area of the Hilton Bayfront (what used to be the Fox Sports Grill) won’t be utilized for the con, it at least is getting decorated.
Get ready to get schooled at the Abbott Elementary activation, , where you’ll be able to step foot in iconic locations from the show, see fan artwork, and more.
[UPDATE July 18 #3]
At FX, setup continues, with lots of foliage.
[UPDATE July 18 #2]
Over at the Bayfront, work continues on the FX American Horror Stories wrap with the creepy dolls.
[UPDATE July 18]
Over at Petco Park, the Batwheels wrap has also added an inflatable on top.
At The Marriott Marquis, the Dragon Ball wrap looks complete.
Over on the Terrace, they’re busy setting up for the Dragon Ball offsite, which will feature statues, photo ops, and even the tickets to grab your Tamashii Nations exclusives on the show floor.
On the back of the Marriott, a new The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power wrap is going up.
[UPDATE July 17]
The wraps have started going up on Petco Park, and the first is a wrap for Batwheels, , an upcoming animated series featuring “the Batwheels” — an awesome group of sentient super-powered crime-fighting vehicles defending Gotham City alongside Batman, Robin, Batgirl and a host of DC Super Heroes.
[UPDATE July 16 #8]
On the San Diego Lions Manor building, near-ish to the Netflix The Gray Man offsite, two wraps for the film have gone up. On one side is Chris Evans, looking down on us.
And on the other, is Ryan Gosling.
[UPDATE July 16 #7]
And the final character on the Star Trek wrap appears to be Dal, from Star Trek: Prodigy.
The Beavis and Beat-Head wrap on the Hilton Gaslamp… They’re the heroes we deserve, indeed.
And as an added bonus, the Marriott has an extra wrap this year, welcoming attendees back to Comic-Con.
Elsewhere at the Marriott, there are more Dragonball wraps going up around the hotel.
[UPDATE July 16 #6]
Severance has at least made some progress! The first wrap to start may just be the last to finish.
Over at The Omni, Krapopolis is looking good.
[UPDATE July 16 #5]
The Marriott Marquis is getting wrapped up with DragonBall.
[UPDATE July 16 #4]
Are you ready for Paramount+’s Beavis and Butt-Head? They’ve got a new wrap, also on the Hilton Gaslamp.
[UPDATE July 16 #3]
Isn’t she pretty? The tents are bing setup now in preparation of thousands of Hall H and “everything else” attendees.
At the Marriott Marquis, the Star Trek wrap is nearing completion. Who will be by the K? We’re rooting for Hologram Janeway from Star Trek: Prodigy.
Elsewhere at the Hilton Gaslamp, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power looks complete.
[UPDATE July 16 #2]
Someone has their eye on San Diego Comic-Con.
And it’s American Horror Stories, of course, with their creepy doll key art — because FX always brings the heebie jeebies with their wrap. Will you be stepping into the FX labyrinth offsite?
[UPDATE July 16]
A new day dawns, and with it, there’s been lots of progress on hotel wraps. Over at the Omni, work continues on the Krapopolis wrap, which is coming along nicely.
The Severance wrap at the Hard Rock may have been one of the first wraps to be started, but it looks like it’s going to be one of the last to be finished. Still, it’s come a long way.
Even if Milchick still looks like… that.
At the Hilton Gaslamp, they’re busy prepping for The Walking Dead Fan Celebration on Friday.
There’s another new wrap going up on the Hilton Gaslamp, but we’re unsure if this is also for The Walking Dead or something else.
[UPDATE July 15 #2]
There’s a bit more progress on the Star Trek wrap.
And elsewhere on the Marriott Marquis, everything’s coming up Dragon Ball.
[UPDATE July 15]
In the daylight hours, Severance at the Hard Rock is really coming together.
Over at the Hilton Gaslamp, Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power looks complete.
At the Omni, work continues on Krapopolis, the FOX Entertainment animated series. You can also find more information about the just revealed Krapopolis offsite, merch, giveaways, and more over here.
And finally (for now), The Marriott Marquis is beaming in with some Star Trek.
[UPDATE July 14]
San Diego, you look pretty at night. Outside Comic-Con got a look at the progress of several wraps, including Teen Wolf, which looks like it could wrap-up as soon as tomorrow.
Over at The Hard Rock and Severance, things are definitely looking more filled in. We’re obviously getting a look inside Adam’s head — though Adam, could you imagine Milchick’s head a little less distorted?
Nearby, a new wrap for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power has gone up, and it pairs well with the golden glow of the Lou & Mickey’s sign below.
And finally, a new wrap is going up on The Omni — for Krapopolis, the upcoming FOX animated series. That QR code will take you to their Twitter page.
[UPDATE July 13 #5]
And finally, to finish off today’s wraps, we have some progress on The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.
Over at The Pendry, Interview with a Vampire‘s wrap looks complete and ready to scare some attendees.
But we’re going to leave you with one more look at sad, distorted Mr. Milchick from the Severance wrap. Someone should really let him out of Lumon Industries, he doesn’t look so well.
[UPDATE July 13 #4]
At Park 12, that’s a wrap on the side banner for Teen Wolf: The Movie. The pack is indeed back.
[UPDATE July 13 #3]
Parks and Cons is back for a look at the progress on the Hilton Gaslamp, where a significant portion of the wraps are now complete for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. Here’s a look at our watermarked photos.
[UPDATE July 13 #2]
Things are looking scary good over at the Pendry, as the Interview with a Vampire wraps for AMC are almost complete.
We really love the details.
At Park 12, the Teen Wolf: The Movie wrap has also made significant progress. We’re pretty sure the side will say “The Pack is Back”, and not other words that end in -ck.
[UPDATE July 13]
Let’s start with the biggest wrap news of the day, which is that The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is taking over the Hilton Gaslamp.
Elsewhere, work continues on the Hard Rock Hotel, where the Severance wrap has made a little progress since yesterday.
Milchick, though, continues to look… unwell.
[UPDATE July 12]
Today, our own Outside Comic-Con is on the ground, where work looks to be nearly complete on a new wrap for AMC’s Interview with a Vampire on the Pendry hotel — which is being wrapped on BOTH sides.
The Apple TV+ wrap on the Hard Rock has also made significant progress. We have a full Milchick now, and what appears to be Mark’s ear.
[UPDATE July 11 #4]
Significant progress as been made on the Park 12 / Paramount+ wraps today.
While over at the Hard Rock Hotel things have been moving at a more relaxing pace, but a character has been revealed and we now know for certain that this is an Apple TV+ Severance wrap. Do you see Tramell Tillman’s character Milchick in his white turtleneck at the bottom right corner?
[UPDATE July 11 #3]
Another wrap is also going up on the Hard Rock Hotel, though it hasn’t progressed very far. With Apple TV+ taking over the location, could this be an ad for Severance or Lumon Industries? The green certainly looks the right color.
To put into perspective how small of a piece this is of the full wrap at the moment, here’s the whole building:
Over at 12 Park, progress continues on the wraps. The side wrap appears to just be the Paramount+ logo:
While the Teen Wolf wrap is already making progress, and is clearly in the woods, similar to many of the TV series’ former key art.
[UPDATE July 11 #2]
Sweet Things, the beloved frozen yogurt shop at the base of the Hilton Bayfront, is also getting in on the action with a new mural in-progress, featuring some fun depictions of cosplayers and characters.
[UPDATE July 11]
We are less than 10 days away from San Diego Comic-Con 2022, and the building wraps have started to go up.
Up first, 12 Park, a condo building, is getting in on the action with a wrap from Paramount, and it appears to be a howling good time — as we’re pretty sure this is for the upcoming Teen Wolf movie.
The other side of the building is also getting a wrap, but it’s too soon to tell.
Elsewhere, on the Bayfront garage, is a wrap for Disney Cruises (and an ERSI wrap on the Bayfront, but that one will for sure be coming down). Will Disney stay? TBD.
[UPDATE July 6]
The area behind the Hard Rock has a small window display, welcoming back San Diego Comic-Con, with some fun pop culture items. It won’t be long before the building and elevator wraps are also going up.
